Most modern Pagans reject the idea of black magic or white magic. For many Pagans it is more about recognizing the importance of the balance between light and dark and understanding that both are equally necessary and important and each have their uses.

For Pagans who do believe in the use of magic, the magic itself is not considered to be black or white, but it is the individual who may choose to do either good or bad with it. It is all about the intention of the person using the magic.

Magic is just a tool, on its own it is not good or bad, but depends on how the individual chooses to make use of the tool.

Magic is magic tricks. Rituals get people worked up, spooked. In that condition they can believe anything just happened. Look at those halfwits searching for BigFoot on television. They piss their pants every time a leaf falls in the forest, as if leaves never did that.

Yes, actual magic might exist. We cannot get to it, and never have been able to. One man is successful because of religion, another man is successful because of black magic. Who cares? That is no better than believing in a religion devised by a hack science fiction writer.
