Hill commented on my first poetry posts and gave me memorable and encouraging advice. I can't say I ever exchanged much information with him apart from 1 or 2 replies, yet somehow he made an impression on me and stayed in my memory.

Two replies only? There was a month when Hill critiqued my short stories everyday. Patient. Helpful. But honestly harsh--which I liked.

Disregard that advice when you're writing a sonnet, a rondeau, heroic couplets, a villanelle, or any kind of verse form that requires end rhyme. (Just follow the procedure about meter and stresses, and your rhymes will less likely to be "lame.")Originally Posted by 2X2E5
