    Inspiration from the Oddest Places

So I was doing a bit of research recently and discovered that Frankenstein was (at least partly) inspired by the Year Without Summer in 1816. I was wondering if there are any other works of literature that was inspired-directly or indirectly-by weather and/or natural disasters. It's something I'm researching, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lord Byron's Darkness was inspired by the same event.

I'm sure a severe storm off Whitby inspired the arrival of Dracula on Britain's shores. I'm sure some of Wordworth's and Coleridge's works are based on Alpine adventures, but I can't remember the specific works.
