    Question Edith Wharton Quote Help!!!

i read an article the other day, of a woman who had recently found out that her high school sweet heart, the one she never got over, had died almost two decades ago. she is happily married now, but wrote about her bizarre grieving process.
in her article she mentioned an edith wharton quote that i CANNOT locate or remember in it's entirety. but i can't forget it either. please help.

it was something in reference to the weird limbo /rejection state your body is in after sex. she mentions something about how quickly your body forgets and starts to miss the other body upon withdrawal.

it was two sentences. beautiful describing the quiet agony you endure after your bodies break embrace.

please help!!! it's driving me nuts
