    Post Reading at Night

    Hey guys,

    I was doing a short writing exercise with the stream of consciousness and I wonder if it's not just a interior monologue. Have in mind, that english is not my native language and feel free to say the truth.

    ~~~
    I'm really into writing and reading, I really am, the problem is, that I can't concenrate, funny, my teacher used to tell my mother he believes I can't even read, but that I study and repeat, instead of actually reading it out loud. now, I am able to read, sometimes, when our dogs snores and the cat wants to lay on my lap, I dig into the book and feel it.
    But then again, every sound of the night breaks the illusion and makes me think about everything. it takes minutes to get me back into the material, even longer to understand and when it clicks, I am Edward Prendick, stranded on the Island of Dr. Moreau and then I look at our Dog and think Dog-Girl and then I think I might just be a little bit too troubled to read books, even in the night time, when there are no sounds of the usual city sounds.
    Or house sounds, like bells, doors, creaking wooden floors or the harsh wind, that always sounded to me like a shriek of a ghost, when I was younger. Old monitors do that as well, but it's more like a BAM, right in you face. For a moment, you are freaked out, but you know where the sound came from, you know it, but the wind was always something I can't touch. Always around, but never really near.
    Being grown up near a farm, I am used to the oinks and the baaahs, but when it's really dark and it's really unexpected, I always feel like a witch is about to scratch at my window and not that Disney witch, who invites to learn magic. That witch will kill me and if I am glad only me. In the end I just lay away the book and dream about that old wall I was to afraid to jump from, but after my mother gave me that kind of homeopathic medicine I not only jumped, but flew, not to Neverland, but to the lawn.
    Well, you have made a good attempt to reach the place. Do practicing as many times as possible and only doing so will help you capable of dealing with your writing needs.
    This isn't bad, I liked it. The flow from 'writing and reading' to 'jumping into the lawn' sounded really smooth and natural.
    I just read Dostoyevsky's "The Double" and that's a great piece of stream-of-consciousness writing if you're interested.
