The Marriage Plot. Full discosure-- I finished reading it just this past week, so even though it's back on the shelf in the public library, it's still fresh in my mind (such as it is.)

    The Virgin Suicides

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~ Edgar Allan Poe

I really would like to read The Virgin Suicides but I am also worried that it will upset me somehow.

I'm worried that I won't be able to find it in the library, but if this one is the choice, I'll look!

The Marriage Plot was overrated. Not very profound, even though it tries to tackle religion. I know one guy was based on that writer guy, and another decides to go to India and everything, but the characters were a bit dull and so was the plot. And despite the title, I didn't taste a lot of lit in the book. I expected more of a Kundera-ish mix of ideas and story.

Just my humble opinion Not a bad read but i'd rather spend my time on something else. Maybe you have to have that kind of background to feel any resonance? But I doubt that is a good excuse for a book.

I was intrigued by the title (The Virgin Suicides), downloaded a sample to see what it was like, ended up getting the whole book and reading it right through, so I'm ready to discuss if it is chosen.
    Exit, pursued by a bear.
