Red face your favourite word and expression of all times

    word wise:
it has to be ''RANDOM'' I only discovered it eight years and I have been in England much longer then that.

    expression wise:
it has to be : ''my goodness my Guinness'' only because I had a cat called Guinness

    you?
    it may never try
but when it does it sigh
    it is just that
    good
    it fly

It would seem that whatever youy will to say will ultimately be randon because of the infinity of possibilities available. However...how can you reconcile the role your will plays with that. Given several choices, picking up one, that one, is not random for me.

    It's a toss-up between "Recalcitrance" and "Conundrum"

I am an admirer of words that can be manipulated phonetically to lend a clever twist to their literal definition. Both of these "big words" whose definitions were challenging for me to recall when I studied english in high school had very unique sounds to which I could ascribe anecdotes/short phrases. It helped me immensely in the learning process.

"Repugnant" is a very effective word which I like to use. I really like the words "impervious" and "lugubrious" and "meretricious."

I just think "indeed" is a cute word and I like how it sounds. It's also a word easy to use in essays. You can use it in many cases. I often use it in translation from French to English so my teacher tells me "yes it is right but it sounds old so you should use another word" I feel bad but I really like this word and can't stop using it.

"Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas," all is vanity - and only when we realize this does it cease to be so.
