Hi,
I'm new to the site and really love it. I was just wondering why there isn't a sub-forum dedicated to non-fiction? This could include history, biography, art, anthropology, film criticism, psychology, travel etc...There are many terrific non-fiction writers who surely deserve recognition on this board! How about it, mods?
Would love to see more emphasis on American History and its best authors

Maybe we could creat a subforum dedicated to linguistics too? What do you think?

Maybe we could have a subforum on mathematics text books! (OK, maybe not. Bad idea.)
I would encourage you to post a thread on any of these subjects that so fit your interest. I wouldn't mind seeing a non-fiction sub forum either, but with all the eclectic topics posted I'm sure any contributions you have will be followed up with comments and feedback. Just try to post your ideas in sub-forums more closely related to the idea.Originally Posted by tm21

When yours fooly writes non-fiction, such as an essay, I put it in the forum which the topic most closely resembles. For instance, an essay on "The Will to Believe" by William James could go into philosophical discussions. Another one on John Ruskin's "pathetic fallacy" went into "Poems, Poets, and Poetry." Two other literary essays, both on the controversies surrounding Joseph Conrad and T.S. Eliot, went into "General Literature."
I generally put my other non-fictional prose, as well as "humor" ( if that's what it is) in "General Writing." There are a couple of general writing advice threads on that forum as well.
