These threads are quite interesting, because you get to know who is a girl and who is a boy (although that might be a wee bit naive on my part). You can't always judge by their writing.
That was exactly my thoughts because it is hard to tell but then it is all mixed here anyway so there is not way of finding out after all...lol

I like to visit this threat when the boys are busy hurling insults at each other over Harry Potter books or academic snobbery or some such nonsense. But I only ever show up here in disguise – you know, so nobody will know I’m a dude.

I think I’ll have Grande nonfat half-caf latte with a sprinkle of Madagascar cinnamon, please.
    Uhhhh...

lol, Sancho. Do you think maybe we could get one on Brian? hehe.

OK guys, of utmost importance: what's your favorite horror movie(s) since it's Halloween?

My favorites are all so old, but still provide a thrill.

The Bad Seed especially now knowing there's a grain of truth in it.

Village of the Dammed, the original, not the remake (sorry Christopher Reeves)

The Shining, still a fave after all these years

The Haunting of Hill House, again the original. The book is awesome, too. I love movies where people lose their minds.

Halloween. The only movie that I really love Jamie Lee Curtis in.

    I found this, too:

There's a great list here. Horror heroines are awesome.

Have you seen Vincent Price's Theater of Blood? It's about a Shakespearean actor who murders theatre critics, it's incredibly campy.

The recipe I tried ended up tasting very much like carrot cake, but with raisins.

    Anyway...

I was talking to my manager and colleague (both men) and a female colleague, and we were discussing training we went on. The lady who who lectured had the most distracting hair (and vpl)...it was so distracting that I had trouble focussing on the lecture at times. I kept thinking about who much I wanted to teach her how to do her hair correctly, etc. The men were so surprised to find out how distracted I was by her hair. However, the woman had the same reaction I did.

Why do you think it was so distracting? Why should I care if her hair looks funny? But I just couldn't help myself staring the whole time...

What did it look like? I'm sure I would have been distracted, too. Men just don't care. I don't know why we spend billions in the beauty industry when all we really need to do is just show up.

She has shoulder length curly hair that she wears straight. So I think what happens is that she blow dries her fringe and then very quickly dries the rest in a rough manner and then she flat irons only the ends to get them straight. But the first few inches from her roots have this weird crinkle cut effect (which bugged me the most), and the rest to the ends are stick straight. On top of that she lightens her dark ash blonde hair, but it's gone very brassy (spelling?) and she hasn't used decent conditioner in years.

It looked like a really bad blonde wig that's not been stored properly.

I sat there thinking of the advice I would give her about the colour, the conditioner, the correct dryer, brush and flat iron and the technique. I had a whole make-over montage running in my head.

Wow. She needs to go see a professional hair stylist pronto, but of course she won't because she thinks she looks awesome.

Ok, ladies. Our last post here was two months ago. I noticed the guys talk on theirs every week. So, yeah, I'm a bit jealous. Surely we can do as well as they do. We don't always have to talk about specifically girly stuff, do we? But it would be nice to just chat, without having to chat about a specific thread topic.

So, how was everyone's Christmas? What are your New Year's Eve plans? Any resolutions for 2013?

My Christmas was quiet as my family is small but it was nice. We're in the middle of a heat wave and last night the mosquitoes ate us alive as we welcomed the new year. My resolution is to enjoy this year and complete my next play. What about you qimi?
