Unhappy HELP!!! ( I need Help!)

ok.... first of all, i'll make apologize if this is in the wrong catagory, but-heck- more people will then probably read it!

anyway, as many of you know, i've been writing a sci-fi/ fantasy/ whatever-one-may-call-it kind of book and have been posting it regarly on my blog. But now i have come to a glitch- which we all have probable come to- in my writing.

    1. I Can't get what's in my head on the paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have these intense fighting scenes running maddly threw my head. But for the life of me i can't get it on a stupid piece of paper! i can't figure out how to right it...
er.. i'll give you an example.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z4cT0uwosro ( you should probably fast forward till it's on five minutes)

or heres an even better one.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=uR47uO7JNSE (fast foward till it's on 6:30)

how would you write down fighting scenes like that?

    2. I'm rushing to much. I have a problem with just writing what going on, who doing this... and not just rush to the fighting scences. What do you do to slow yourself down and have more deeper chapters.

    3. Do i make sense?

Mmm . . . So I'll try to help, since I also wrote some scifi/fantasy books through NaNoWriMo the last two years. One thing that helped me was to write down a bit of the plot I wanted, the sequence of events for each chapter or the next bit, the relationships I wanted to make between the character, etc. Even if I only wrote I line or two, it helped me to pace out the book (or I started doing the exact same thing as you - or making scenes that didn't know how to finish themselves!).

For the fighting scenes, I'm not really sure, since I haven't really written any - I would suggest to go and read some other books that you think really got the fighting right, and see how they did it. Be innovative, don't drag the scenes on too long with too much description, and I personally would maybe scange the rhythm of the phrase at that point to be maybe terser. Just get your reader excited, and it doesn't have to be perfect! Write what makes you excited!

Good luck I'll look forward to reading it!

I, for one, am glad that you're having a hard time getting the 'intense fighting scenes' down on paper. What good would they do if they somehow wound up on paper?

a fight is a form of flower granted by those that cannot create life...they are internal struggles confronted, and look like flowers....love, B

There's a great writing book by Jesse Lee Kercheval, that helped me get all sorts of scenes down. It is called "Building Fiction." She talks about how to introduce a character, which helped me do action scenes, because the way in which you refer to body parts matters.
