    The Stapler

    The Stapler

    The old red stapler
    resting on my desk
    reminds me of my mother:
    resilient,
    uncomplicated,
always there in times of need.
    Master Amalgamator.

    I still think of her
    with red apron on,
    standing at the kitchen stove,
    stirring stew,
    my sisters and I
    fluttering around the house
    like three wild, wind-blown pages;

    mom, bringing us together
with a soft nod of her head.

bonding together, paper bond, staple diet, duel mechanisms and a great metaphor.
And in return - shouldn't 'if' be 'of' in L6?

Very moving. Enjoyed reading it, Xillus, a wonderful metaphor.
