Can you do something with this or is it too long?

It is one of my favorites. So sadly and laughably ignorant, arrogant almost, of a typical teenage girl who thinks she is right!

Marianne Dashwood: "Colonel Brandon is old enough to be my father; and if he were ever animated enough to be in love, must have long outlived any sensation of the kind. It is too ridiculous! When is a man to be safe from such wit, if age and infirmity will not protect him?"
"Did not you hear him complain of the rheumatism? and is not that the commonest infirmity of declining life?"

The man was 36 and still very able! Declining life!
One has to laugh before being happy, because otherwise one risks to die before having laughed.

"Je crains [...] que l'âme ne se vide à ces passe-temps vains, et que le fin du fin ne soit la fin des fins." (Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac, Acte III, Scène VII)

    yeah that quote is hilarious
    thanks for your help
anyway i see that quote is kinda significant for our modern world. there are many teenage girls out there now who think that they are right.

do you know any quotes that shows elinor think like a "man" ? because this novel theme is more like a gender inequality to me

My fav quote is when Edward says: "I was engaged elsewhere", because of the double entendre.
