I remember you with a mouth full of honey--
poured on the ground while maple rained,
caramel pollen freckled thick upon your cheek.
I remember your viscous kiss.
Syrup coating my lips in candy lust--
to savor only once more.
--Because your goodly glaze I tainted
into acrid regret-- poison pooling over your heart where
my green sword claimed you my own
and me, yours--
both polluted in love’s toxin,
to forever live-- and soon die
as one.
