    Full Blue Moon August 31st

Tomorrow night, August 31st, a second full moon this month will occur.
A second full moon in one month is known as a “Blue Moon”, nothing to do with the color. The next Blue Moon will take place in 2015, so take a moment to gaze up and enjoy that “cold hearted orb that rules the night”.

“Hey Ken, now we all know that the moon isn’t made of green cheese, but what if it were made of barbeque spare ribs, would you eat it then?”

Just saw it then! It came out from behind the heavy overcast for about two seconds before vanishing into a glow again. Much too short (and cold) to hang around waiting to snare a snap. Curiously it did actually look blue (as in the colour, not the mood, which was provided by me)

I noticed the full moon last night--or it looked full enough for me, but probably needs a few more hours to completely ripen. Although I've heard the term "blue moon", and picked up the idea of it being rare, I didn't know what it really meant until now.

After looking this up, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_moon, it seems that a blue moon can also refer to the 3rd full moon in a quarter that has 4 full moons and all the moons of the quarter have a name:

For example, the first moon of summer is called the early summer moon, the second is called the midsummer moon, and the last is called the late summer moon. When a season has four moons the third is called the blue moon so that the last can continue to be called the late moon.

I commented on it last night then came on here and realized it was a blue moon.

Had I know I would have had one of these:

    It's not too late.

The moon is just about to clear my neighbor's trees.
    I'm stepping out shortly.
In the meantime I'll borrow some music from a previous moon posting and suggest this by Dvorak...
