Thanks Max - another with the reduction problem of losing detail in order to resize. I've resized a detail only by half to keep it relatively small

Resizing can be a whole subject depending on the results you want to achieve. If you have GIMP you may want to try a plug-in called Liquid Rescale. The basic idea, AKA content-aware resizing, is to resize portions of the image while leaving a selected area unaltered, meaning the area we want to keep as similar to the original as possible after rescaling is done. I don't know if it is exactly your problem, but here's an example of what I once tried:

Back then I wanted to fit the whole first image into a 300 by 300 frame without altering the shape of the man, sun, clouds, and ice near him. As the central image shows I didn't make it by means of the normal rescaling procedure, which is obvious due to the irregularity in size of the new image with respect to the original (from a 488 by 355 pic to a 300 by 300 pic). The third image shows the result of the Liquid Rescaling Algorithm, and although the left side looks rather twisty, at least I was able to keep that certain part of the scene unaltered while fit into a smaller frame than the original... really close to my expectations.
By the way, it's one of the first scenes in 30 Days of Night, which I then wanted rescaled in this fashion in order to be used as a profile pic. Of course it was also a good test for the plug-in and for myself too, since I was learning how to use it.

It's been a minute since I've had inspiration to draw something, but I did this one last night when I couldn't sleep. I'm thinking about fixing her eyebrows to make her look less hostile...

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle...That is some mighty fine drawings you have there, Beautiful. I like the first drawing the most...I always like the simple look of a woman. Keep it up.

They're great Beautifull! I like the sketchiness of the first, the rough edges and hair really adds to the expression, and vice versa. The second has a lot of latent energy - both the ready-to-spring pose and the solid black against white. The shadow and sense of foreground depth give it a sci fi feel.


That was a good description and demonstration Max - I'll definitely keep it in mind The problem I was referring to however isn't quite that complex, just that sometimes when reducing the size of an image it occasionally doesn't give a very clear result, and I realise too late after I've moved onto something else instead of re-rendering at the new dimensions, and it's a hassle to reset (if I've neglected to save the scene, or changed the textures and models and lighting and stuff too drastically).

Thanks Mystyr. I'm thinking of drawing out a background for her, but two things hindering me. One of them being, I don't know what the background should be, and the other: Even if I did know what it should be, I suck at drawing backgrounds. XD But if I do think of a nice background, I'll give it a shot.
Until then, she has a shadow. One a white background.

Okay I am horrible at drawing. Always have been.
However mustering up some courage I tried this quick sketch (took less than five minutes) after a long, long time! And even more shamelessly I have had the audacity of presenting it here! What an Artist indeed! A four year old could draw better!
