k, I'm out. That one and Billy's Got a Gun are the only ones I can recommend and I'm pretty sure you aren't going to like Billy.

The tune I like. His voice irritates me. I always thought his brother had the better voice.

I think this topic is lacking a little Def Leppard at the moment so I'll throw this in the mix.

I used to adore Def Leppard, also from Sheffield, when I was at school, when I was 14/15 or so. Then they sold out after Hysteria and went pop - always massive cheesy rock though. Now they are probably sat on that uninhabitable rock in the South Atlantic next to Jon Bon Jovi! As Papaya said though the earlier stuff, was proper rock rock, classic rock - the leathers and spandex variety of rock - yeah man.

This one in my opinion is the best and most underrated of the aforementioned proper spandex period. Hysteria being probably the best in the latter half. Enjoy!!

I feel the need to purchase Union Jack Y-fronts right now.

Edit: Geek tit bit: the swimming pool on the front cover of the High and Dry album (the one with the really bad image of the man driving in the pool) was taken from Longley park, which lies about 200 metres from my house. The outdoor swimming pool has long since been closed down though. Council cut-backs even then.

    Oh what about Thin Lizzy?

There are endless versions of this old song of course, including a version by Metallica!

This song is guaranteed to be played in about every Irish pub every night. It was about the third song played by an Irish band when I was in Dublin supping Guinness a few years back, predictably. God, I got drunk that night!

Ooo, Ace of Spades, that is bum kicking rock. I think Lemmy has toured constantly for about the last 40 years, I don't know how he does it. He doesn't age. He also loves cheese, English mature cheddar, maybe that's his secret?

I've just thought about this one, Don't Fear the Reaper, Blue Oyster Cult:
