Jethro Tull Minstrel in the Gallery live 1976

I love the costumes of the 70's and the showmanship. Excellent performance all the way through! Always loved this song much better than Stairway to Heaven for some reason.

As seen as Neely has let us go wild, I'm going to throw some Madchester rock in the mix.

    The Stone Roses - 'Waterfall'
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uQMqsWsGtA

I can't watch/listen to many of the videos as I'm not on proper Internet at the mo, but some good songs here and some others that I need to listen to too. Like The Rolling Stones - never listened to them properly. And The Kinks. And Jethro Tull.

M.Bastable - that story paints a really funny image in my head with the nun part! Great.

Is it therefore the less gone?..." E. A. Poe

I'm not sure that the Stone Roses' charming faux-trippy psychedelia really qualifies as Classic Rock, within the meaning of the Act. But enjoyable, nevertheless.

I was going to post exactly that clip of Free - not my favourite band of the era, but you could make an argument for that being the quintessential British rock song, although there's some strong local competition.

In the Netherlands, on the other hand, there was very little competition at all...

    True, but Neely said:

Yes I'm not defining classic, read "classic" as "good". Bad choice of title, my error.
The Stone Roses are classed as rock and they're good (IMO ), so I mentioned them.

You're right about defining classic rock. I posted that clip because I reckon nothing beats a good old set of drums with bass & electric guitar (plus some long haired, bearded sweaty men!). IMO, it meets the criteria!

This must be the most 'pervy' video of all time. If you think I am wrong, and there is a more pervy one, then please prove me wrong.

I think this is bordering on cheesy rock, but who cares?

I'm pretty sure that you could find pervier with about ten minutes concerted effort. Although I'm prepared to put in three or four days.

Is it made more or less pervy for knowing that that's Steve Tyler's daughter climbing out of the window?

Your dedication to the cause is most admirable.

Yes I remember it is his daughter now and the other is Alicia Silverstone. I think it's very tongue-in-cheek anyway.

How about this one to add to your bike adventures? (Not the original recording apparently.) I can just see that nun now - zoom, zoom.

    Absolute classic that.

I think this topic is lacking a little Def Leppard at the moment so I'll throw this in the mix.

There is no topic that could ever be 'lacking a little Def Leppard', unless the topic was 'to which tiny, featureless and unmapped outcrop of uninhabitable rock in the far South Atlantic shall we banish Def Leppard?'

While in theory a tiny bit of me tends to agree, another part knows Def Leppard had some pretty decent tunes in their early years.
