New translation edition of War & Peace??

Just recently bought a few Russian Novels. I noticed that Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky (translators) are being considered the best Russian to English translators. I love the look and feel of their paperbacks.

Anyone know if they are working on a new edition of War & Peace? The Modern Classics version looks a little flimsy for such a large work, plus I don't want to buy it if there's a new version coming available.

I have not heard of a new edition, but I wouldn't be surprized if someone is working on a new translation now or in the near future. My own edition of War and Peace is the Penguin Classics edition, which is actually one of the books I have read so far this year. This is a translation by a women called Rosemary Edmonds and she died a few years ago, in 1998, after translating other Tolstoy editions such as Anna Karenina.I think there was some earlier editions which featured half of the book in one edition and the other half in another;it is such a long book(over 1400 pages) afterall. In some secondhand bookshops they may still have a copy of the older editions and ones you can't find in new text bookshops or libraries.I have seen rare or unusual copies of some books in this bookshop here, but not this older edition of Tolstoy so far.

My own brain is to me the most unaccountable of machinery --always buzzing, humming, soaring, roaring, diving, and then buried in mud. And why? What's this passion for?
