does anyone know how oppression is expressed in James Joyce's "The Dead"?
Perception becomes a language... The far greater part of what is supposed to be perception is only the body of ideas which a perception has awakened....
I've not read it, but my strategy for such things is to decide first what oppression means, and then based upon that definition, discovering ways it can be applied in a piece.
