Spike Jones was a favorite of my Dad's, we listened to him and his silly songs all the time when I was a kid. There was a song about a horse race, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the song but it was my favorite.![]()

Yep, that was Spike with comedian Doodles Weaver (trivia: Sigourney's uncle). They did a similar bit with an auto race set to "Dance of the Hours."
Both of the above are on Spike Jones Is Murdering the Classics, which was my introduction to him. My father brought that album home one evening, and I was hooked for life. I ended up listening to it so much that I could replay it note-for-note in my head while waiting to fall asleep at night.
