    Lightbulb big brother and mussolini

well i was working on a project and i read something about Mussolini's regime and when i read "critics were thrown into prison, forced into exile, or murdered. secret police and propaganda bolstered the regime." and that reminded me of the thought police and the ministry of truth. and i feal that in a lot of ways big brother represents a little of Mussolini as well as some other dictators what do you think??

I think the link can be done indeed, although Mann is much more known to have wrote thinking about Mussolini.

I think that Orwell meant to represent dictators as whole, not just Mussolini. Hitler and Stalin also had secret police, Gestapo and the NKVD respectively. You do have a valid point, there are many correlations between BB and Mussolini

i agree but i didn't intend to put this just about the secret police, i also want to point out, and again not meaning to point this just at Mussolini but other dictators as well, that in Italy there was a lot of oppression. and i think big brother has a much deeper oppression then other dictators have gotten, because i believe it would have to take some time.
