    Earthworks

I teeter on the muddy bank, snarling
like a caterpillar tractor swamped in rough terrain.

I extend my blade like the bulldozer I have become
and push the gross mire away with a multi-shank ripper.

Take heed of this new heavy equipment
as tungsten steel crawls toward its toughest task.

I splash and splutter through rancid puddles
and ferociously excavate all which is truly precious to me.

The canals I create channel those emotions
that were wedged firmly in the earth after my lahar.

Now hope flows as I stumpbust my way
and bush rake the devastation in my quarried life.

    Delta40,

Very nice descriptive poem. I can learn from this.

Thanks Shadows. I dreamed this one up and recalled fragments of it in the early waking hours.

I should google "lahar" but I'm too lazy.

A lot of power and strength in this one, Delta. I hope that means you're feeling well again?

This reminded me of your poem 'large vehicle management' but probably only for obvious reasons.

I take this as your strength redoubled through your recent troubles. As we like to say on here .. an extended metaphor x

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

As a combine, could you cope with so many last straws?

    Very expressive, Delta.
