    d'Artagnan

Weird connection I found lol. I just stumbled upon this site because I was doing a search on Gascogne for genealogy purposes. A family name has been traced back to that area. I wasn't thinking of the connection until I saw that the area was home to d'Artagnan.

I think I will enjoy this site. Always have loved to read.
Nor was I hungry; so I found
    That hunger was a way
    Of persons outside windows,
    The entering takes away.

I wish my ancestors traced back to France- particularly where any of the four musketeers were from. Welcome, Eidolon. Glad to have you.

Hmm..I don't think I have any relations in France, so I don't think I am in any way related to the three or four musketeers, unfortunately.

    Charles de Baatz D'Artagnan

I am looking for any historical information on Charles de Baatz - alias D'Artagnan in the Three Musketeers. I have just bought a very old house near Vianne in the Lot-et-Garonne in France, and have been told that it was once owned by Charles de Baatz, which seems to be reinforced by a reference to him on an old fire back in the kitchen dated 1653. The area would be correct, being the original home of Henry IV of England, and an important stronghold in the 100 years war.

If anyone has any historical information I would be fascinated.
