"Je crois que beaucoup de gens sont dans cet état d’esprit: au fond, ils ne sentent pas concernés par l’Histoire. Mais pourtant, de temps à autre, l’Histoire pose sa main sur eux." Michel Houellebecq.
Stand Up ~ Mother Mother
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
but weighty and unmovable

Well Stu I'll tell you, surfing's not a sport, it's a way of life, you know, a hobby. It's a way of looking at that wave and saying, "Hey bud, let's party!"

I know it's hideous and silly and could probably be used in warfare as a means to scare the enemy. But really secretly? I like it because it's silly and the people involved in folk music always seem to have such fun and exhibit such joie de vivre, I can't help but smile. It really cheers me up.
(And no, nobody I know can even remotely understand my sentiments.)
I'm currently listening to the new Fleet Foxes album. I just opened Spotify and saw it and nearly let out a scream of excitement...![]()

This is the second time in six days that I'm venturing down that particular lane, so I probably won't be able to convince anybody that I don't actually like folk music. Oh, well, it can't be helped.
