I'm just watching Casablanca again, it really is a good old thing. After a few drinks I'll probably going to stick another Woody Allen on. Not sure which one yet.

Watching Woody Allen after Casablanca is like drinking Coca cola after vintage Bordeaux.

No, no, you're too harsh on the fellow. Probably like drinking Fursty Ferret after Chimay though...

I've just seen this and, following my recent encounter, I would say it's more like drinking Blandford Fly after almost anything with the possible exception of strychnine.

Here, this is the one I'm watching Melinda and Melinda, it's not bad, but it's going to be near this best I think - a few good moments though already.

Not like Blandford Fly at all...

Edit: actually, this is pretty damn poor. Avoid.

The Hour of the Wolf - somewhat disturbing and interesting, but very odd. Need to return to it again I think.

Well, I am watching Whatever Works which is Woody Allen's latest film, or the one just before it, I'm not sure. It is very good, especially at the beginning, i've not finished it yet, but I would say it is right up there in his top 5, of the one's I have seen anyway, which is most of them now. I doubt that he can get ever passed Annie Hall or Manhattan though; essential viewing.

Jane Eyre 10/10 This latest version of Jane Eyre is sublime. The actors playing the leads are marvelous, and the director did a superb job of leaving in the most important elements of the book. the longest scenes are those of between Jane and Rochester and they are thrilling. I fell in love with him along with Jane, and felt for her as she asserted her values, then decided that love was paramount.

What is it about the moors that breeds such passion? Anyway, I thought it was fantastic.

    Point Break

God, I love cheesy action films. Well, not all of them, but ones like these. Keanu Reeves is so bad, but so enjoyable to watch. Awesome. And the use of the Nixon masks: iconic.

    Zodiac - 8/10

Watched it some what unwillingly but got hooked on within minutes. Had no idea it was based on a true story either. Downey JR was awesome as always!

I'm currently* watching Le vita e bella, not sure what to make of it at the moment, feels a bit like an Italian Carry on/Last of the Summer Wine in places, strange. We'll see. I'm only going to watch half of it though as I'm off to bed in a bit.

    * I've not got the hang of the past tense rate thing yet.

Just finished the Spanish horror movie "The Orphanage" -- excellent. Watching "The Mist" now, which was one of my favorite Stephen King stories.

I love "Point Break;" "Zodiac" was really good, too, although I was a bit miffed at the ending.

"Macbeth," as directed by Rupert Goold, starring Patrick Stewart. Strong, moving, brilliantly imaginative. 10/10

I'm on my third viewing of Hannah and Her Sisters this week. I'm really addicted to Woody Allen and thinking of either joining an appreciation society, getting therapy or buying new underwear (see the other thread...). Love this scene. Go watch!!
