    Peer Gynt - a poem!

After reading most of the later plays, the stream of consciousness that is Peer Gynt is a shock to the system. And the play seems so long.

On the weekend, ABC TV showed Peer Gynt - Heinz Spoerli - Zurich Ballet. I enjoyed this ballet version of the indulgent anarchy inherent in Ibsen's play accompanied, from time to time, by pleasant tones from contemporary Norwegian, Edvard Grieg.
