Published in London
This is really a great day for me, since a few hours ago i was notified that a weekly english newspaper (of the diaspora) will publish a short story of mine.
The short story is 4 pages long, the paper sells- i read- around 7K copies each week.
This is my fourth ever printed story in a periodical or paper. But it is the first time i go outside of the borders of Greece. I am very happy :)

Oh, congrats, man.
I'm jealous :D.
No, seriously here's to a great future!
-
Thank you Kiki :D It does mean a lot to me. I hope more publications in that paper or others of London will follow (i can dream anyway)...
-
Congratulations !! Any chance you could reveal the name of the newspaper?
-
Sure, but only after the actual publication (said to be tomorrow) ;)
-
Good news. It's nice to hear of people doing well.
-
Getting published is hard enough for a native speaker; for you to have done it as an ESL person really says something about your work. Congratulations!
-
Thank you both :)
However the story will still be in Greek, since the paper is bilingual (Greek and English). I am not sure if they will have a translation of it, if they do i will link to their online version of the paper.
Also i had to send one of my best works, and in retrospect i doubt they would have accepted anything else. The first steps are by far the most difficult ones, which is also why many authors produce their best work early on- they need to, so as to break through to the public.

Exellent Kyriakos!! What is the name of the publication (it's today!) as I am in England this week.
-
That's brilliant Kyriakos, well done.
-
Just been notified that the online copy will go public this Sunday. The printed paper is already out...
But i am pretty sure it only can be found in London.
You can have a look at the online copy this Sunday (i will post the address then; better safe than sorry i guess since this is the first time i am being published outside this country...) :)
-
Hi Kyriakos - what is the name of the publication? And you can write it or say it in Greek, my assistant is Greek - looking forward.

On Sunday it will have the online edition. If you are in London you can have a look, it circulates already there.
-
Congrats, Kyriakos! Well done! :hurray:
-
Thank you Mona (And Prendrelemick) :)
-
So, has anyone actually glanced at it? (if you are in London). Still anxious to see the online version this Sunday, and then get the actual paper in a couple of weeks...
-
I am back in Cayman, but will look at the online version.
-
I think you are being messed with. LOL! Congradulations! That is good news indeed!

It is in page 23, but i think there is only the greek (original) text, and not an english translation. Oh well :)
