I had nutella for the first time today. WOW! I had no idea it was so good. At first I just tried a little taste but then I just kept going back to the jar. I finally left the room to keep from eating more. It’s just a little bit of Heaven.

Mmmm. I adore nutella. I think I'll have to go see if I've any left in the jar now. :D
I've always see it on the grocery shelf but have never tried it.
OH, Papaya! It's worth a trip to town right now. I had seen it too, but didn't want to fork over 3.50. I'm going to go get a spoonfull right now!
Another fan of nutella here. Very tasty stuff!
LOL, never heard of Nutella. Is it like chestnut purée? Or peanut butter? Or something different altogether? :)
It's a chocolate-hazelnut spread, and it is awesome. You should try it on shortbread.
my husband is a NUTELLA nut !!!
What do you guys put it on? I've never tried it, but I know ppl that have peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches. That sounds gross to me, but whatever.
Wow, now I'm afraid to try it. I don't want to get hooked on it like you guys. You all sound like addicts. ;)
The first time I had nutella was inside a warm crepe I bought from a street vender in Paris, and I think my favorite way to eat it is still in homemade crepes with strawberry or banana. It's pretty great stuff on just about anything, though...or by itself. Maybe Virg. has the right approach with the straight off the knife technique.
ooooh, chocolate bath!!! :D
I just went to get my jar of nutella and a knfe. I'm scooping it out right now and spreading it on my tongue. Mmmmmmmm!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
Hahahaha! What an awesome thread!! I get it from the bulk food store so I only get a little bit at a time or I would eat it all in one sitting!
It's amazing spread on toasted flax bread. It goes all warm and melty and amazing...:nod:
hahaha, oh wow, you lot are terrific. I know, it's amazing, which is precisely why my mom refuses to buy it :D
Nutella is best enjoyed on the freshest bread, and a liberal application of that chocolaty goodness!
A note for the uninitiated:
If you like nutella, your going to LOVE Vegemite! Hehehe!
Yep. Fresh bread, butter and nutella on top :D

do you get Kinder chocolate (also by Ferrero) in the US at all?

Ohhhh I love Nutella!! I already had 2 Nutella sandwiches today! :p
And on the subject of Kinder chocolate, I LOVE Kinder Bueno:

We can't get Kinder Eggs here, but a friend of ours shipped us some from China in years past. The kids LOVE them! I wish people would just watch their kids. Everyone posted great pictures.
Sorry to break up the Nutella love-in but .....YUCK YUCK YUCK! It's HORRIBLE:sick:
Wow, I can't believe I'm posting after a non Nutella lover. Up until now I thought it was the universal and perfect food that would unite the whole world in joy and friendship. After all, even Virg. and I would both vote for Nutella in a national election. ;) Just another utopian ideal crushed. :bawling:
Back to the more serious issue of kinder chocolate. I was totally addicted to Kinder Bueno when I was in Italy. I've never come across it in the United states, though. Ferrero Roche on the other hand...it's a good thing I'm not trying to go on a diet or something. This thread is throwing way too much temptation in my way. I've never seen the Kinder Eggs, Sleepy. That is such a great idea. Poor little US children. Less choking but also less fun. :p
I'm late joining in, but I still wanted to share my love of nutella!
In the absence of crepes (nutella and banana is my favorite!) and fresh bread, I think nutella is quite good on top of Thomas' English muffins. Since they have more substance than your average loaf of store-bought bread, it works better I think.
I don't think I could eat it plain, though. That would be too much for me. :p
I'm thinking it would make a good pie. I'm going to get some bananas to go with it next time. That sounds like a match made in heaven!
Cailin, you sound like a perfect candidate for Vegemite!
Oh damn I love that stuff... my last three days in England I had NO food whatsoever other than a jar of Nutella... I ate it with a spoon. *shame faced*
KINDER EGGS ARE ACE!
Are those seriously banned in the U.S.A? Come to Canada, we have a glut of the things, and we shall all live in a world of plenty!
mmmmm, i adore nutella. Iwill buy it soon
Haven't had any for ages. We used to chill it slightly then dive in with spoons, smiles big, waistline bigger. We also made sure we bought the ones in glass which we now use for ordiary drinking glasses, not bad two items for the price of one!
Kinder Eggs are great, Easter wouldn't feel like Easter without Kinder Eggs :D
I've never heard about nutella, though, and couldn't taste it even if I had. I'm allergic to nuts...
I know what it is but I have never had it. I see that an awful lot of people here really like it. But my question is this. Is that hazelnut flavor strong in it?
Hazelnuts are bad.
Not too keen on the Kinder Eggs, but love Cadbury's Cream Eggs!
