oh the grass harp pleaseeeeeeeeee. I saw the film I knew had to be a book it was just THAT good and I think Ive read breakfast at tiffany's:nod:

In Cold Blood!! I've had that book for 2 years (Have I been in Kansas 2 years?) and I still haven't gotten to it yet!!!

In Cold Blood!! I saw the Capote movie about this book and got totally interested in reading it.

you cant have been in kansas 2 years 'Paya you didnt live there when I first joined or OMG have I been here 2 years and not noticed :eek2:

I just ordered Grass Harp, so if we read it, I will actually have the book of the month available to me for once!

Grass Harp is the only one i haven't read besides Book Club Regulations. I think the Book Club Regulations story sounds a little droll personally. Oh well, lets see if Tidy Gal fixes this up....I've read everything else.

ok, almost 2 years. I moved here in March 05.

Do In Cold Blood, such a good read! I liked the way Capote kept going back and forth between the two stories (the murderers' story and the family's story) at the beggining of the book. I think that makes the book more "literary" since it wouldn't be literature if it just presented what happened to the family in a straight forward way.

I am really torn between In Cold Blood and The Grass Harp (not to mention Breakfast at Tiffany's, which is one of my favorite movies!)

Though... Wondering... MaybeIn Cold Blood is not exactly what I need to read these days...

I was wondering that myself.....

because its no where near as good as the film and its only a short story barley 100 pages.

Hey, I found a nice copy of In Cold Blood at the used bookstore for 25¢ , so I may be able to participate no matter. Yay!

I'm afraid I might be a bit over optimistic on this one. Trying to finish Pygmalion and reading another book while starting school...goodness, if In Cold Blood wins I am going to want to read it so much grrr. Sorry, venting.

I heard about 'In Cold Blood' and I want to read it.

Hi everyone! I'm back and would like to participate in the club again.

I've always wanted to read Capote. But I think I've got the same dillema as everyone else about the last three listed. I think I'm leaning toward The Grass Harp only because it has "harp" in the title. :)

I've never read anything by Capote and would love to. However, I don't think that I'll have time before Feb 20, and unless his books are extraordinary short (are they ?), I don't think I'll be able to make it :(.

Yes, they are very short books, Schoko; no more than 200 pages on average I think.

I'm pretty sure In Cold Blood is more than 200 pages. I hope I don't discourage you to vote for it. It is a good read.

In Cold Blood is a good read, but I think the only reason people are reading it now is because of the relase of Capote (the Movie)

Yes, you are right, the copy I saw has about 300 pages.
I rather not vote, seeing that I'm not hundred percent sure whether I'll be able to find a time to participate next month. If I do, I'll surely drop by in the discussion thread :nod:.

It has been a long time since I participated so please forgive me if there are clearly posted rules I have missed, but which book do we read with this three-way tie of ours?
