I'll make 3 statements, 2 are true and one is false, can you spot the lie?
I have flown a plane
I own 4 swords
I can speak 3 languages
If you guess right, it's your turn.

No, actually it's not. I have flown a plane, I've never landed one but I didn't claim that. ;) My dad had his private pilot's licence when I was younger and we had a little 4-seater and once he got up in the air, the controls and steering wheel were ours to do with as we pleased. I had planned on getting my own pilot's licence but he sold the plane before I had the chance and renting air time is insanely expensive.
The lie is the language thing, there was a time when I spoke 2 languages, but sadly, it's now down to one.
Now it's your turn...
OK, which is the lie:
I was born in Italy
I have a son and a daughter.
I have a yellow labrador receiver.
 Hmmm Virgil - you may well have a yellow labrador retriever, but I doubt that you have- so I guess that's the lie??Quote:
a yellow labrador receiver.
alas! I would have konwn the lie,Virg!
okies
I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 children, and 1 husband
My dream is to take a space flight
I'm fluent in French, Italian and Latvian, but my German is poor.
the first one is the lie??the couple of everything except the husband?
Well, no one ever answered the last one, so I'll give you two truths and a lie. And be sure to remember with Pendragon, nothing is ever quite what it seems.
1.) I choose to live my life since I became disabled vicariously through a seemingly endless string of fictional characters created by my very imaginative IQ.
2.) I have been accused on more than one occasion of being psychic.
3.) I graduated in the top ten of my class in high school and summa cum laude for my AAS degree.
Good luck!
the first one is the lie?????:D
At severe personal risk, I will challenge the third statement.
I ardently challenge the second ! Even if it really occured to you, it's the lie for me. You're just great, Pen !
Let's put some bets!!! :D
Let's see: Miss Tenderness believes No. 1 to be the lie.
Schokokeks challanges #2 as being false.
Robin and Sub vote for #3, Robin thinking a great personal risk.
Well, time for the moment of truth. Any one could tell you I always invent characters, and that even my poetry that has been published has been published under pseudonyms. So number one is true. My characters here have included David Pendragon, last son of Camelot, Auld Arrow the Ghost of The Dastardly, and The Mafia Penguin.
I have been accused at least three times here on the forum of being psychic, because I seem to know what I shouldn't be able to, but it is only detective work. Number two is also true.
So number three is the lie, but it is a half-truth. The first half is false, the second half is true. I was a slacker in high school and graduated with a low B avarage. But when I went for the degree, a B was unacceptable to me. I only made two the entire time I was in school. I did graduate summa cum laude for my degree. But a half-truth is a LIE. So there you are. Good read Robin and Sub!
I'm very glad I didn't guess wrong, or else I might have something to answer for.
Still, in all fairness to tender, IQ doesn't measure imagination.
Here are 2 trues a 1 lie:
1) I've finished "War and Peace" in three days
2) I would like to become an engineer after I get my degree
3) I like to read poems aloud when I'm a bit drunk
2nd one is a lie -- degree in what?? If not engineering then it is difficult and 'would like' is an expectation in the future which is always uncertain.
1. That would be truly impressive, I was proud of myself for finishing it in a week and a half but I suppose if you do little else but read those 3 days, it would be possible so I'll accept that.
2. Man, I wish I had paid more attention when you were talking about school awhile back...I have to give that one more thought...
3.    So, do you get up on tables and ask for everone's attention and start reading Pushkin? That would be awesome, I really hope this one is true.
Well, if I accept the first one and have hope that the last one is true, then I guess by simple elimination, my guess has to be no. 2.
Well, you both are correct. The second one is a lie. My Master degree is in mathematics, so I don't reaaly want to become an engineer.
And Idril, I prefer Lermontov, Gumilev and Lorka :)
ok, two truths and a lie:
1) I often write backwards to confuse my coworkers
2) I live in Kansas, USA
3) I am in desperate need for a manicure.
#3 is the lie - I just got a manicure!!!
"The Jedi Way this is not. To be misleading to the Darkside leads. Hear you nothing that I say?"
See, Yoda agrees with me. Nyeh. :p  ;)
Alright since I lost and haven't posted before...
!.) I am very tall (5'10" and that is talll for a female)
2.) In my entire house there is approximatlly 12 bookcase, yet still they pile on the floor.
3.) My outdoor clothes vary in deep dark tones, as well as black...but I have a fondness for pink nightgowns, robes and slippers.
I'd say 1 is false, because on numerous occasions on this forum you have said to be quite small. :)
I think the second one is a not true. Why use the word 'approximately' I believe one would know how many bookcases they have in their house.
1st I guess maybe true.
3rd is for sure true, you have tried to make Robin wear a pink shirt. But on a serious note, I think you do like pink and dark shades.
Much as I hate to agree with Aimus, I'll shoot for number one. Book collectors loose count of books and book cases. ;)
Nice game! I say number 1 too, just because.
When can I give you my 2 truths? :D
Aimus and Pendragon are correct, I am pretty small. And yes, I was including bookcases all over the house, including areas I don't go into so much so...yeah, it is possible to lose count. ;)
Yay, my turn! :D
1. I need to clean my room, and throw out some of the old stuff.
2. My mother likes to take long hikes.
3. I really like my long hair.
hehe, so, can you tell which is the lie?
3rd is a lie, as if I remember correctly you did mention somewhere that you need a haircut. So, you cant possibly like your long hair.
I agree with Madhuri. The third must be the lie.
I'd say the hair thing too... maybe you don't even have long hair...
It was that obvious eh?
Well, one was true, although it has now been taken care of, it still counts as true because it was so at the time of writing. The second is also true, and the third isn't, I used to like my hair when it was long, now that I barely have any of it left, I still like it, but it isn't long anymore. Yes, I got tired of having long hair and decided to cut it all off. :D
