Your Favorite Beatle

I don't think a poll like this has been made; I didn't find anything when I searched "favorite Beatle," at least.

I am using the various Beatles' solo works to aid me in my choice, so feel free to, also.

Only a few months ago I would have said John, but ever since I listened to George Harrison's All Things Most Pass, I have to go with him. That album is just brilliant. While I like a lot of John's solo stuff ATMP just blows it all away. Plus, George wrote my favorite Beatles song, "Something," and I've always liked his songs in general.

Well...It's kind of hard to argue with Keith Richards.

But, otherwise, I guess I'll have to go with George. He didn't talk much, I like that.

I've said John as a sort of automatic response, but I don't really know. 'Sir Paul' is a little smug and self-righteous though it has to be said. One of my tutors once told me of the theory that the Beatles are dying in the wrong order, a little harsh perhaps?

I watched that film Nowhere Man last night, that was quite good, all about John Lennon at 17 and the very early stages of the band, it's worth watching if you've not seen it.

Dung beetle! Of course. I thought I heard a whooshing sound over my head.

I'll have to check out that film. And, as callous as it is, I think they ae dying in a most unfortunate order for many Beatle fans. If Ringo outlives Paul, that'll be the clencher for that theory.

George - I saw a documentary about him earleir in the year. He did much more than I was aware of. He became interested in Eastern religions, introduced Ravi Shankar and his musicians to the west. It was a fascinating watch, and I really like My Sweet Lord.

I like all the Beatles other stuff too, but he seemed to have gone beyond.

"Mt Sweet Lord" is a wonderfully uplifting song. If you haven't, Paul, you need to listen to All Things Must Pass.

I tie-broke it and chose George over John. John used to be my favourite. Before that, Ringo. Paul was never my favourite, but I love his voice.

I just love the Beatles.
