steady for a few months but Jack wanted more! In order to get the sympathy vote he engineered the whole "falling down the mountain" thing (Jill was soft enough to believe you find water at the top of hills - I mean really!)
Unfortunately for him, all he got for his pains were vinegar and brown paper (Jill later ran off with an insatiable, gypsy knife-sharpener.)
