Everyone in Canada drinks Tim Hortons coffee, which is the weakest coffee you can find, it's terrible. It's also dirt cheap though.
Anyway, being a guilt ridden socialist, I go to Starbucks and I buy fairtrade or organic Mexican coffee.
My aunt Bernie's coffee farm in Costa Rica sells its beans to Starbucks too, so maybe there's some familial loyalty in there.
I stopped drinking coffee when I moved to the UK. I still cannot understand why they have pour milk into everything; I think milk spoils a good cup of tea or coffee.
I enjoy having a cup of cappuccino when I am out, though, and since last year, I have been visiting a nearby Starbucks regularly because it is a convenient meeting place at that location.
I cannot get myself enjoy Costa, though. Their coffee and other coffee drinks are unpalatable to me.
Does anyone like Frappuccino? And tried one of those instant Cappuccinos to make at home?

I see Ireland is actually ahead of the UK on that list. Understandably because we do have some fantastic coffee here. Bewleys for example. What to give for a Bewleys coffee right now! Even there Decaf is... words cant discribe how good it is!
Starbucks replaced Bewleys in Dublin Airport and its a sin! A SIN! As Bewleys coffee is nice and starbucks coffee is horrible... but not as bad as their tea. their tea is tar. gross. Bewleys also makes the best tea. I really love Bewleys Fair Trade Special Reserve Tea. Quality.

:) No, just that little country below sea level :D We have some connections with South Africa (colonial past), but I've never been there. I listen to music from that country sometimes - I like the language, but I do not really understand it. It is a strange kind of Dutch, mingled with all sorts of influences :). I've never been to Australia or Asia either, and I do not think anyone in my family can trace their heritage back to either places :nonod:Quote:

The instant Cappuccinos are hillarious. You need to keep stirring the drink so it keeps its texture. We ended up laughing so much at our efforts that could not drink it!
I often get the urge to buy one of those coffee makers (one of my good friends has one and make me fresh coffee for breakfast every time I stay over at his place) but I am worried that if I have one, I will end up drinking too much coffee so I am trying to resist the temptation.
Oh man, I was thinking of getting one of those. Cafetieres just don't have what it takes. Drinking coffee is a good thing - don't resist. I think it will be my Christmas present - go fetch.Quote:

I agree but like Scheherazade said, I'm worried I'll be clicking over at 10 000 mph on the best coffee beans in town if i indulge. Already gave the last percolator away...went on a herbal tea journey but lets not go there....

I'm from the land of Starbucks. I don't particularly care for coffee, each day, but I do enjoy a fresh brewed cup.
After work on Friday, a group of teachers like to get coffee at McDonald's. The fastfood chain has a whole new line of caffeinated beverages (McCafe). Oddly enough, I have had the Mocha Frappe, and actually liked it. Of course it was good- McDonald's make all their food with pure XXXX. I recommend this line as a treat.
I have heard of Starbucks but I don't know if they are really popular in Australia. I think there might be one in the city but I am not too sure. I believe Gloria Jeans coffee is very popular
My husband likes the dark French roast. They do make decent "specialty" coffees. These beverages are so full of fat that you could make a meal substitute out of them.

McDonalds... I can not recall they have different types of coffees over here. :crazy: Probably, but as I automatically go for "ordinary, black coffee", I probably just miss it. I don't study the signs above the counter anymore :blush:. I go to McDonalds for coffee when I pass it on my way to the train station: it is cheap (main reason) and tastes good. :) Actually, it is the only reason why I ever go there :nod: :lol: Wait... in the summer I do get a McFlurry every now and then :D. Mmmmm.

In Canada we're more about Tim Hortons than Starbucks.
I'm having senseo-coffee for 3 days now and I would really like to have some "regular" coffee for a change :lol: I do like senseo, but nothing beats the ordinary "cup of coffee" :D

McCafes are pretty hilarious, they decorate them like Starbucks, but then just next to them there's a bunch of screaming children scarfing down happy meals. They just can't pull off the atmosphere. I've heard from others that their coffee is good though, and cheaper than the chains known for coffee. Starbucks isn't really that common in Canada, as Jun says it's mostly Tim Hortons. Even so, they have mostly been out-competed by the Canadian Starbucks knock off, Second Cup.
there aren't any coffee chains here on the ice, we don't even have McDonald's anymore... but I did try Starbucks when I was in London and liked it. the closest thing to a chains here is the two biggest speciality coffee brewers and they have a few cafes but mainly just make coffee for stores, but they sure are good.
Only this summer I tried Americano and loved it, now my favorite is triple americano, oh that is the best!

I usually prefer the ones in body shop than something expensive, at the moment I love Neroli jasmin, though I have been told it's similar to the naomi campell scent, I think it's better... (Sorry, bloke invasion). Washing your feet in vinegar is standard practicve for those who choose to march long distnaces. Beware, it does harden the feet, which you might not want - unless you are planning on doing the Nijmegen Marches. Also when the feet get hot, it is....shall we say.....interesting. Like living next to a Burger bar!!

The Nijmegen Marches :hurray: I've never participated, but I've gone there to cheer a couple of times :D I have an uncle who has walked it a couple of times. I had never heard of that trick with the vinegar though... I do know about terpentine on the hands for rowers :nod:
As for perfumes... no clue :blush:
I'm late on the perfumes thing, but I like Cool Water for Women. I was also always a big fan of Elizabeth Arden's Sunflowers. The Body Shop used to carry an oil that I liked called Dewberry but they don't have it anymore and it makes me so mad. I like the perfumes that smell clean and light but I want to be able to smell the perfume. Oh, and Estee Lauder Pleasures is nice - it's almost too heavy but I like it. And one other one came to mind but I forgot. Oh yeah, and Chanel Chance and Coco - like those. They are too heavy for me personally but my coworker wears one of the Chanels (not No. 5 - I don't like that one) and it is awesome. She's also older than me so that might be part of it. I'm not a big fan of most heavy perfumes like White Diamonds.
Burberry Brit!! It's my fav perfume. It's sweet without being really fake smelling.

I missed the shopping cutoff, but I like Black by Kenneth Cole. It smells kinda weird, but nice. Works well as a signature scent:
