I don't mind the jeans and sportcoat combination (especially with tweed etc) but I don't like the one in the picture... I don't like fitted coats/jackets with jeans; I think they are better suited for suits.
It's quite all right for both work and after hours. :)
Oh i got a set of church candles which are going to be decorative in a fireplace, bed linen thats really cute and has a cottage feel to it, throw, a wok, dust pan and brush, scrubbing brushes, two linen baskets, tea towels, chopping boards, extention lead with anti surge.. emmm... think thats all i bought but i do have table and two chair set picked out which they were out of stock of and a two seater sofa bed, so i'm going to order them both online together. I love ikea!
Hope it all lasts as long as the stuff I bought for my first home, Niamh - somewhere- somewhere - I still have the sweeping broom I bought some thirty-five years ago.....the matching buckets, washing up bowl, dustpan and brush did not survive Himself 'borrowing' them to tidy up his workshop; can't think why the broom survived, I must have 'rescued' it at some point.
Niamh, is the furniture nice? I've been thinking of ordering a sectional type seating, but it is quite expensive and I still need to buy their covers for it. The thing that I like is that I can invest in the furniture once, and if my tastes change in five years, all I need to do is buy maybe a new cover and not a whole new set. I've seen a good couch last 15 years before it was really broken down, and I would love something so durable. Too much is made to be disposable now, but I really don't want to spend a few thousand dollars on furniture every five to eight years.
well the sofa bed i'm getting seemed really sturdy and solid. The furniture is quite nice, some quite funky, some traditional and some modern. Bit of everything.
can't wait to see pictures of your new place
It's so exciting, Naimh!
I'll post them in the other thread when all is sorted.
How did we get from vacuums to sofas?...this is way random ^^
At least I'll rather talk about sofas than vacuum cleaners :p
LOL I don't mind what we talk about. I just find it odd about the transition, but speaking of...my sofa is nice and comfy. How about yours...
Isn't that just how girl talk goes? Moving from subject to subject :)
My sofa isn't that comfortable. I must admit I use it more for collecting piles of stuff (clothes, books, paper) on it rather than sitting on it...
This is very true. I don't tend to pile things on my couch its far to comfy for that...
I'm having issues. I'm on a shoe buying binge and there are so many cute pairs. I've bought these

and these
http://zoom.jcpenney.com/is/image/09...&resmode=sharp
both in the last week. It's like I can't help myself.
The first pair are cute, but I dislike the second pair intensely.
While I like both pairs of shoes that you bought, I could not see myself walking in these or even standing in them for that matter. Just give me a nice comfy pair of walking shoes or sneakers and my cowboy boots and I'm a happy camper.
Ah, Niamh I'm so excited for you! Decorating is so much fun! Can't wait to see photos!
Love the peep-toes, Meg. I'm not a fan of the platform, but I'd be willing to overlook that small detail. They're cute. The other pair are what my friends and I call "bondage shoes". Have to say, I really dislike them. Are they anything close to comfortable?
I'm in the minority, I kinda dig the second pair. I bet they would be really cute with jeans.
i like the first. not big on the second.
the worst possibly thing just happened to me... I dropped my watch down the toilet.
Yuck. Did you fish it out? When I drop stuff in the toilet, I usually just consider it lost.
hahahaha, now that stinks. At work I usually have a pen in my back pocket and I'm forever dropping thenm in the toilet.
I had to fish it out. Its a DKNY watch. Totally disinfected it.
Yeah, I always throw my pens away.
Aww Niamh that sucks! It's not the worst though- my riding coach once lost her cell phone in a porta-potty at a horse show. And she fished it out. Eww.
These are the most expensive shoes in the world:

The gold flower thing is diamond and gemstones in the middle.
Stuart Weitzman’s worn by Rita Hayworth. They cost three million dollars.
Those are gorgeous!!!
That's pretty much what I thought since I wear skinny jeans to work a lot  I had looked at some of the other "bootie" type ones that are so popular at the moment, and I just couldn't see me wearing them. The black ones were much more something that you would expect to see me in.Quote:

Charm - I don't really like the platform, but I'll confess that it makes a bit more comfy on my feet after wearing them all day.
Juniper - 3 million for those :eek2: While they are very cute, I would never consider spending that much. Who needs that many stones on their feet anyway since no one really looks at your toes for precious gems. Buy a ring, or a massive and beautiful necklace instead :D
Not really a shoe person...I'm all about the jewelry ...
I like jewelry too, but since my youngest is only 3, I've only started to wear it again:)
I have this really cool necklace that's a flower crushed between two round pieces of glass on a silver chain. It's pretty, looks kind of like a slide.
But if you drop something into the toilet and don't fish it out, what do you do? Just flush it and really really hope that the pipes won't get blocked?

I don't care that much about shoes. Sure it's nice to have a few pairs of pretty heels, but they are so uncomfortable if you have to walk any longer distances. I have a really expensive pair of shoes that are the best I've ever had. They are like a lighter version of hiking shoes, simple black and so comfortable to walk in. After getting used to those even a kilometre in normal flats hurts, not to talk about high-heeled shoes...
But at a party it's sure nice to wear a pretty pair of strappy heels :)
Jewelry I like. I almost never leave home without a necklace, I feel kind of naked without one.
Do you ladies mind if I join the conversation? :)
 well spotted!
this was the watch i dropped. Only thing from my ex i kept. functional.

not hinting at all! :D
