How many times, after getting all dressed up and going out to either a business or social event, have you splashed water on your trousers when washing your hands in the men's room, and worried that others will think it's pee?

If one more pair requires an additional suitcase and the accompanying delay at TSA, that's too many.
How many meals of tuna salad would you be willing to eat, foregoing more interesting meals in an effort to lose weight? (I ask because if I eat one more...)
I think variety is the spice of life, but also, our wills should be able to overcome all sorts of adversity, including tuna salad challenges. so, ad infinitum (or ad nauseum?) would be my answer.
but that said tyrion--it should be relatively easy to swap out a tuna salad for something very equivalent.
papayahed, good one, but you forgot kake, kandy and soda pop! laughs...

ah tyrion, you got me again---not a once, and the same for pink Floyd's the wall too...
how many musical artists haven't you seen in concert but whom youd like to?
oh, god, bounty, as a musician and lifelong music devotee, were I to start listing them we'd still be here when fresh cucumbers fermented into pickles.
And what do you mean not once? Getting high, putting on a pair of Koss headphones, lying back on the bed and drifting off to Dark Side is a spiritual rite of passage. I'm beginning to suspect ye of 'aving communist sympathies...
How many times this year have you expected to drift right off to sleep but found yourself filled with boundless energy when you'd like to be dreaming of native girls walking on white sand beaches?
laughs...nope, im a conservative leaning libertarian type...and dark side of the moon was during my high school days and it got plenty of play time, just sans pharmacopeia...
what instruments do you play tyrion?
by the way, being a lover of music, have you read bel canto?
thankfully, I think zero to that question too....my time for dedicated reading is right before sleep so that, combined with a fair amount of physical activity and careful caffeine consumption, does a pretty good job of cueing my brain to sleep.
how many x-men can you name?
Dr X, Beast, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, Cyclops, Angel. That's nine.
How many Pre-Raphaelites can you name?
Well, since I don't know anyone named Raphael, none.

Maria Falconetti, Tatsuya Nakadai, Toshiro Mifune, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins, Ingrid Bergman, Max von Sydow, Robin Williams, Meryl Streep (although I draw the line this side of Mamma Mia!, no matter how much I may like Abba), Philip Seymour Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Morgan Freeman, Idris Elba, Ralph Fiennes, Natalie Portman, Michael Gambon, Ian McKellen, Alec Guinness, Robert De Niro, and Patrick Stewart.
How many directors are there whose movies you would watch more or less just because they directed the movie?
I'd have done better with this question when I was young and used to keep us with directors. And have hair. Let's see...Probably no more than a few now, though in part that may be due to age, because I've found that nowadays I don't automatically watch movies the way I did in my youth.

How many time have you refused to believe something that was later proven to be correct--and still refused to believe it?
that's a good question, and probably hints to an aspect of "stubbornness" that might not be all that desirable...but for me, its probably an unanswerable question, something I haven't really kept track of throughout my life.

7 ounces coffee
How many days of vacation do you have remaining this year? (And if you don't work: How many days will you go away on travel?)
was hoping someone else would answer that but in an effort to keep the thread moving...
im in a peculiar life situation that leads me to answer "n/a" to the first part, and zero for the last part.
no im not in prison!
how many pages to go in the book you are presently in? (and some comment on the remaining pages please)
Well, since I'm listening to "The Martian" in audiobook form, I don't know how many pages, but I have about two-thirds of the book remaining. And it's OK, bounty, we would never judge you for being in prison. I read the police report and fully understand how frustrating a trip to the DMV can be.
How many licks does it take to get the center of a Tootsie roll pop?
laughs...speaking of the dmv---the local mechanics telling me 3k to fix my car to make it pass nys inspection. so im not too happy with the state at the moment.
i think i asked that question some time ago...3 if we are to believe the wise owl.
whats going to happen in the rest of the martian story?
how many non-fiction books have you read in the past year? (and feel invited to say the titles)
I think three, which would include two Ray Kurzweil books and a Michio Kaku book.
No idea what's going to happen in the rest of "The Martian" because I gave up on it. A very clever idea for a story and so well-researched, but the writing is rather mechanical and since I can more or less guess how it turns out (but don't tell me if you know) and will probably see the movie, I bid it farewell.
How many layers of blankets, comforters, etc. do you sleep under in winter?
two---my usual is one sleeping bag and one quilt but this season though ive been going with two quilts. they are both really big too and can be doubled up for three or four layers if i want. i keep the door to my bedroom closed and so the temperature in the room is probably high 50s. long sleeves and pj bottoms, plus i sleep with a hat in the winter too.
how many miles in a "good hike?"
bounty, the visual of your pj bottoms was more information than I ever needed. ;-) On the other hand, the hat visual gave me a real giggle. I pictured a fedora. ;-)
A good hike, for me, is from my refrigerator back to my bedroom, where I collapse on the bed in front of this very screen. In my youth I did plenty of hiking and saw some glorious country, but nowadays I'd rather lie comfortably back and watch it glorious high definition. That way I can sip tea and make popcorn. :-0
How many types of tea or coffee do you have in your kitchen?
laughs...while I wouldnt go so far as to say the pj bottoms are dashing, especially sans fedora, they are quintessentially "woodsy"---the classic red and black squares you might see on a lumberjack's working shirt.
the "hat" is usually a light felt-type simple version of a balaclava. military issue actually, ive had it, and a sister to it, for 34 yrs.
0 coffee, ~15 kinds/flavors of tea, though usually there's more. over the past few years ive made a point of saying tea would be a great Christmas present, so id often have about 20-30.
how many tv shows/programs do you kinda sorta make a point of watching regularly?
<facepalm> bounty, what did I just tell you about too much information? Am I going to have to stop this car? I don't want to hear about the red and black squares on your jammies, any more than I want to hear about your Superman underpants. And any guy who wears a balaclava while he sleeps spends his weekends out "on maneuvers" with his militia buddies, prints his own currency, and likes his friends to call him "the Colonel."
I would say I watch maybe four shows that are broadcast weekly, though I sometimes don't watch them till the season is over so I can marathon view them, and then perhaps five or six of the dramas on Netflix or Amazon, each of which amounts to about two days' viewing since whole seasons are released at once (which I love) and I marathon them as well.
How many times a year do you become inebriated to any degree, either intentionally or not?
laughs...yeah but you like woodsy, I mean we're talking right out of the Duluth trading company or hugh jackman in wolverine...
despite the balaclava, no militias, officer monikers or underground mints here...
im a teetotaler so zero days of inebriation for me.
how many days do you typically go between drinking any soda pop?
I never drink soda pop so the number of days is as many as I've had or will be fortunate enough to have yet. And I'm a teetotaler myself, so no inebriation for me, either.
The Duluth Trading Company...I'm going to have to look them up. ;-) And re: Wolverine, do you shave with the steel claws?
How many bands/singers who've been making their music for less than ten years do you listen to?
