(mmm to a certain degree yea - I mean I have a good idea what emotion they are feeling - which is alot of information).
No, not really. I would always do something though.
Would you consider planning to never permanently move back to your country of birth?
-
(perhaps, but the emotion they are feeling could have nothing to do with you)
it would be hard to plan on complete permanency
Would you move to another country, because your partner wanted you to?
-
Yes, but not soley for that reason.
Would you marry someone that you likely were already going to marry so that they could stay in the country?
-
sometimes a little pressure can make you take that leap of faith required to make a big commitment, especially if you realise what your life would be like without that person in it. But I would not make that decision unless I had already been seriously thinking of marrying them already.
Would you want to be forever 21 years old physically if it meant that you were also forever 21 financially?
-
no, but 23 and you have a deal.
Would you let a friend use your car for a day?
-
yes as long as they can drive a stick shift properly (most can't)
Would you lend money (let's say $1000 )to someone you weren't that close to, maybe a co-worker that was desperate, with no guarantee of getting it back?
-
Yes, depending on character. Around here you get that alot ("me wah likkle money nuh?)
Would you date someone who flat out did not read and doesn't like to read?
-
I actually did. My friends could not believe that I was dating someone that didn't read. But we had lots of other things in common and he was able to fulfill my emotional needs, which for me is very important. He was a very smart(practical) and a very successful person that was worldly and sophisticated but he didn't have the patience for reading (I believe there was perhaps a problem w dyslexia) But he loved movies, music and was very adventurous and loving and for the time I saw him, he made me happy!
Would you be an alibi for a cheating friend even if you were friends with both the husband and the wife?
-
(The vast majority of smart practical successful males don't read-I don't know any investment bankers, brokers, traders etc..who read. I could count the number of bookish guys who are super successful on no fingers){exception, some corporate lawyers do read}
Yea, i'd provide alibi. Turning a mate in for cheating is bad on so many levels.
Would you debate on Serious Discussion Thread(litnet)?
-
(he was a partner in a large international firm and worked very very long hours plus travelled and had to socialise for work so probably no time for much else, but are right about the lawyers)
(would you still provide the alibi if it was for the wife?)
I might, haven't so far.
Would report your boss to a higher up if you knew he/she was stealing from the company?
-
Yes. oh Yes. (I would ensure that he/she had no more recourse(political or legal) to me first though).
Would you forsee a day that you may become more cynical about the world?
-
cynical as in "Given to sneering at rectitude and the conduct of life by moral principles; disbelieving in the reality of any human purposes which are not suggested or directed by self-interest or self-indulgence; as, a cynical man who scoffs at pretensions of integrity; characterized by such opinions; as, cynical views of human nature."
I highly doubt I will ever be like that. Though it's healthy to be a bit cynical sometime, a true cynical outlook means a loss of hope and joy...and I for one do not want to ever live that way.
Would you be able to tell someone you loved them if it was unclear as to whether the feelings are reciprocated?
-
Done that!
Would you bungee jump off a bridge?
-
yes!
Would you?(B4B, if you could do the above I'm sure you would be able to bungee jump!)
-
Yes.
Ooops. i meant cynical as in dry humour-clearly wrong word I picked. I meant dry in the sense of the vast majority (with notable exception) of people of British descent. Whatever that is - i like it!
Would you spend a year in sub-saharan Africa with a non-govermental organization at your current income (excluding South Africa)?
