Hello All,
Just wanted to stop by. I am very new to internet socializing and spend most of my time on my next novels.
Please drop me a line though, so I can get used to this. I am interested in meeting everyone here who can be patient while I learn to reply.

I studied English literature, and have a growing interest in learning more about world classics, which have been enriching me for many years. For now, i shall stop introducing meself, for i can not help browing and exploring this web right now.
share my favorite quote with you all.
God grants me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage the change the things i can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Hello everybody! just a quick introdsuction from myself here, My name Is Daniel Campbell I am 22 and live in London.
Most of my life I had a poor attitude towards literature like the majority of my peers back then.
I borrowed Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas off my brother about 2 years ago and ever since then I havent stopped reading :)
I have read alot of the contempary classics, and thought I would join this site to see what people could recommend to me.
I am not sure exactly what sort of books I enjoy most, I end up finding an author I like and reading all their stuff which i think works for me.:P
I have read alot of George Orwell and Hunter S thompson and H.G Wells so far but am on the look out for new great writers, hence why I am writing this.
So if you have any books to recommend or just fancy a chat you can add me and go from there.
Thanks for reading- Dan Campbell.;)
Hello friend
Even I am new to socializing on the internet. Nice to learn that you write. I also write short fiction and essays but I am an amatuer writer and would really appreciate if you could help me with your experiences in writing.
Hello everyone. I'm a constant reader and book buying addict. I predominately read fiction and poetry. Right now I'm in the middle of House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, as well as Paris Spleen by Baudelaire. Hopefully this forum will be a conduit for much interesting and valuable discussion.
Hello everyone! I am currently an english student in university. I am really looking forward to joining the LitNet community as i find that most of my classmates have little love of poetry and fell bottom first into the major with little grace or purpose. It is nice to see literature love alive in so many. On page 362 of DH Lawrence's Sons and Lovers right now. Favorite poem is "In a Station at the Metro" by Pound.
Me= Shoesy.
Hi my fellow literary enthusiasts. Joined this site because I want to know some good books that I should read, and find out more about the depth of those which I have already read. I would also like to do better as far as my english texts at school go next year so I'll be adding some threads on those if there aren't already some up. Any help with these books would be excellent.
Thanks guys :)
The oldest in a large family, you'd think I would be outgoing, bossy, and social rather than the private individual I am. I'm a lit lover, been one my whole life. My idea of a good time is a quiet afternoon curled up with Austen or perhaps a captivating new read (but those are hard to come by--better to stick with Austen or Bronte or Faulkner), the telephone turned off and nobody around to interrupt or to need help with this or that. That's a rare day.
Very funny
Hyperion is godlike...satyr is lustful. Hamlet is asking his mother why she would turn from someone like his deceased father, so superior, into the arms of his brother Claudius, a man Hamlet sees as base, corrupt, and very lustful. In fact, Hamlet seems more obsessed with his mother having sex with Claudius than he is with his father's mother. Notice how much more often Hamlet references incest and lust than he does the actual murder.
Well hello to all you new people. :)
Hope you enjoy your stay here, this site has something for everyone!
I am here today because I am an adult college student struggling with a composition class. To be honest I believe I will not pass. I am an "A" & "B" student but for some reason I get completely choked up when I have to write on certain topics. Right now my assignment is to write a literary analysis on Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales". I have read this story many times and the only thing I get from it is that Thomas is reflecting on a childhood Christmas and intends to evoke similar memories for the reader. I, however, get stuck on the MANY descriptive words he uses. I do not intend to offend here, but for the life of me I cannot understand how this is a classic short story. Because of my confusion I am hoping to get some insight so I can write this paper.
Hello!
I found this forum while researching for a school project, but got sidetracked at the apparently good community herein.
Sooo... I introduce myself here as an avid science fiction fan who enjoys philosophy.
Recently, I've read the fountainhead, 1984, brave new world, and some other material that has got me thinking about the philosophical dichotomies between collectivism and other forms of human social interaction...
Hello everyone! I've just joined so I thought I'd stop in here to say a quick hi. HI!!!!

Hello...I'm Sally and I'm looking forward to being a member of your little community. I discovered poetry when my father gave me a book of poems that my late mother wrote in her 20's and I thought that I might "have a go":)
I belong to a local writing group and I am still feeling my way.;)
Best wishes
Sally:)
I'm with you, Sherry. I am also an adult student struggling at finish my writing degree. I have waited a long time to complete it, and for the life of me, I feel over my head in reading and research.:brickwall: Writing usually comes naturally, but now I must be conscious of grammar usage, work citations, and general thesis paper format.
I would be pulling out my hair if I did not keep it short.
Anyway, writing fiction is my passion. But for now, I must work with my professors to get this 57-year old brain of mine to thinking in academic terms of writing. Considering that this is my first semester in more than a decade of absent from campus life, I am hopefully that this transition will end painlessly and that I will have everything together come next semester.:)
Bye for now,
The Woolf In Me!

Hello everyone,
from the land of snow and eternal (?) winter. I found this site while googling on something and decided to give it a try, since it seems like an interesting community. Literature being a big part of my university studies and poetry my deepest passion I am looking forward to some lively literary discussions in here.
And yes, I do write poems and keep struggling to organize them into a book. Wish me luck...
(edit: one should never end with three dots)
best wishes
Heidi
I'm not sure what to say. I think I need help using this!
Hello,
I've been reading on these forums for a few months and figured I might as well register and contribute something if possible.
I'm senior studying English literature at an American public university.
I'm interested in early 20th century American Lit. and Russian Lit.; I'm most familiar with the novel, but I'd like to branch out more in the future. Dostoyevsky, Faulkner, and Kafka are some of my favorite authors.
My laptop battery is about to die though so further introductions will have to wait -
glad to be here,
B
Hello people, you lively bunch...
I've been lurking here for QUITE a long time (a couple years, actually... and mostly the Personal Poetry section), but I've just now decided to get an account.
I'm kinda crazy and socially awkward, but I'm really a nice person. Promise :)
I enjoy meeting new people and discussing poetry and other forms of literature. So, on the off chance you have even the slightest urge, feel free to contact me!
Anyway, I've got homework. (Silas Marner, yay! Haha.)
Later.
Hello everyone, i look forward to hearing your feedback on my poetry and to give my opinions on yours, and due to the fact that im a man of few words that is all, Thank you.
Hello. Dickens is my favorite writer, and we share a birthday. Not birth year, mind you.
Hi, I'm a high school student - a junior - and I love my classes. I love pre-cal

I'm in orchestra and I play the Viola and with my friends I'm very outgoing! I love anime and manga and I really want to learn another language besides Spanish which I'm currently taking. I love languages and I rally want to learn german and latin. :alien: My favorite author is S. Meyer I really couldn't help but be sucked into the series ^.^
Hey Howdy All,
English was my favorite High School subject (decades ago), and in College too.
Now that I'm retired from industry I keep several books going at once, and enjoy Poetry and Poet Biographies.
I just hope my spelling hold up here. It could get embarressing.

I'm an English Literature student hoping to hit a fantastic uni here in the UK for the subject and just love reading!
I'm currently focussing on Victorian Literature (got to say The Return of the Native is breathtaking stuff), and am currently reading Conrad's The Secret Agent.
So yeah, hi! :D
first post, I'm Sus001. I have recently discovered this site. I'm reading 20th century authors right now, also some of the older short stories. I've rediscovered O Henry and am enjoying his twist endings.
I found the site looking for an online quiz to while away my lunch hour.
I studied English Literature in the past and am looking forward to joining in some of the discussions.
Just like to introduce myself. My name is Assumpta and luckily came upon this site by pure accident. I have recently had a book published as an e-book with a publisher in America. It's my first ever novel though I have written another two and am infact on my fourth.
Really looking forward to posting and reading some of yours
Hi everyone!
I discovered this forum this afternoon, while I was having a break from my studying. I liked it immediately!
I am 23, I'm Italian and I study languages. Since I was 6 (beginning of the primary school) I fell in love for reading, writing and books in general. I was really obsessed with reading, I used to save my few money (when I was like 8 years old I didn't have much money, of course) to buy new books. I've been reading a lot for all my life, and I've read many different kinds of literature. I had to stop reading for some years at the University, but now I am writing my thesis, so I've more time for my own.
What else can I say? I think I said everything... but I can answer to your questions, if you have some :)
Hope my English is not too bad, I stopped doing it 5 years ago and in Italy they don't care that much about teaching languages well. '^__^
Hey. I'm Khy. I'm in high school, I love books- I'm writing my own. I run, and I'm learning German, Spanish, and French (I hope Latin soon). Not much more to say. Unless someone asks. ^_^
