common interests are important but more important for me are core values and emotional needs. In a perfect world we could have it all but I think I have a 1 in a million chance of that happening. I have also been in relationships where we had lots of interests in common but there were fatal character flaws that I overlooked because we were a good fit. I require someone intelligent and cultured that enjoys communicating but my criteria would not be if they could have a conversation about a book I had read. Of course I would need them to share some things in common, but more more importantly for me would be, did they have integrity? could they express and show love? could I depend on them if I needed them? were they kind? did they have a good sense of humour? were they stable? could they fit in my life, did they make me happy?

No. It's not that I haven't made (major) mistakes, but I know that I still do. I'd rather live at peace being forgiven for my faults than be scrambling to undo the past when I'd be sure to muddle it still.

as a certified bon vivant I excel at enjoying myself and socialising. There are very few that can rival me in this field :-)

Hell yes. There was good money in that during the lean college years. (Wonder if you still get magazines or if the fluffer tools are now digital - must check it out).

Would you go to a military parade and hold up a support the troops banner or similiar after a very far away foreign military campaign that was not a direct threat to your country and not a humanitarian campaign? - (hypothetical question, as many countries don't engage is such campaigns).
