thank you danik.
one of the things I pay attention to when I watch movies are the age gaps between male and female characters. this looks like a good one for that. gene wilder was ~50 and Kelly lebrock was ~24. maybe i'll watch it.
im reminded by the posts and a movie im presently watching that I like photography and cinematography that's black and white but with select parts still showing up in color, like a red dress, or red shoes. im sure theres a name for that.
red with bruce willis and bunches of other well-known stars---a funny and cute action/spy movie with some romance that's worth watching.
The Red Balloon - Albert Lamorisse
The White Balloon- Jafar Panahi
snow white and the seven dwarves by walt Disney or someone in his neck of the woods. can you name all seven of the dwarves without peeking?
Ha, ha, not even in Portuguese. Just two names.
The red Dwarf- Ivan Le Moine
The Seventh Dwarf (Der 7bte Zwerg) - Boris Aljinovic, & Harald Siepermann
:biggrin5:
The Seven Samurais- Akira Kurosava ( one all time favorite Direktor)
Masterful book made into one of the greatest movies ever made IMHO... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Pillars_of_Wisdom
Sherlock Holmes' Little Book Of Wisdom - Glenn Dakin
tailor your movie and book posting got discombobulated. I wanted to point that out to you as a prophylactic for it spilling over into other areas of life so that you don't accidently put two teaspoons of salt into your morning cup of coffee!
but the book title looks neat and something I should collect.
the last samurai with tom cruise. could that movie have worked without the love interest of the Japanese widow?
@bounty I'm afraid I'm getting somewhat discombobulated (love this word)too. Sometimes film and novel have the same name so that I have to look which of the threads I am on.
Here is such a case: The Last of the Mohicans
Movies right ?
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark - Steven Spielberg
Joan of Arc with Ingrid Bergman ( my mother loved this actress)
Great actress :)
Bending the Arc - Pedro Kos, Kief Davidson
i think bend it like beckham is a movie isn't it?
does it have anything to do with soccer? is david beckham even in it?
by the way danik, my homeless cat, spritzer, is a pretty good goalie.
...
Bend it like Malika - Mustafa Sabri (Mose Sab)
@bounty no football fan, have a faint remembrance, who Beckham is.
Give my regards to Spritzer(now where did you get that curious name?)!
Malika: Warrior Queen Volume 1 by Roye Okupe
Pump Up the Volume - Allan Moyle
danik are you allowed to be a Brazilian citizen and not love soccer? unless maybe if youre a beach volleyball fan then that's okay?
she went nameless for quite awhile when she was leaving under my house. I think one day the name just came to me. its very suitable for her though. she's a calico and so her fur is "splashes" of 4 different colors.
pumping iron the movie that sorta kinda put Arnold Schwarzenegger on our map.
My choice is a movie with a ton of baggage (lol)... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Iron_Petticoat
The Iron Petticoat - Directed by Ralph Thomas
@bounty-yes, I survive in Brazil without liking football. It is possible.
As for Lady Spritzer, she must be beautiful with all that splashes of color adorning her fur.
The Iron Lady- Phyllida Lloyd. I think I saw that one with wonderful Merryl Streep in the leading roll.
did you do anything Olympics-wise when they were there a bunch of years ago?
she's a pretty handsome cat in a funky sort of way. on her back and sides shes mostly black mottled with lots of orange. her face is black and orange. underneath, especially her feet and tummy, she's got lots of white. maybe someday in life, if I ever replace the old digital camera I have that no long works, i'll take a photo of her.
ironman, the marvel movie that set their cinematic universe in motion.
who's your favorite avengers character?
who's your favorite marvel character overall?
dag nab double posting!
Captain Marvel.
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance - John Ford
Thor.
The Third Man (with Orson Welles)-Carol Reed
Thor cracks me up :)
The People We Keep - Allison Larkin
I think he was at his funniest in ragnorak. I didn't like how he fell off the deep end in endgame.
I have to say, in so much as I didn't love it, I was disappointed in the last thor movie. same with dr strange. I haven't seen the new black panther yet, and im pretty confident I wont be going to the theaters to see the new antman, but I have high hopes for both of them, and whenever the new captain marvel comes out too.
I think, in too short of passing, the new big universal bad guy is introduced in the new antman movie?
ordinary people from way back in the 70s I think. all-star cast, family drama, haven't see it though.

Curious about this move!
Life of Pi- Ang Lee
danik, I thought for sure I had that book in my collection but its not showing up in my list! sometimes I miss keeping track, so i'll have to go out to my garage and search for it.
its interesting, I bet very few people in the states will have heard of maurico de sousa or monica's gang. and he's apparently the "walt Disney" of brazil for goodness sake! sometimes we miss out on the quality the rest of the world has to offer.
it's a wonderful life with jimmy stewart and donna reed, a fantastic Christmas movie that everyone should see!
Hope you find the book. Maurício de Sousa was inspired in his own daughters. He recently made a film with Mônica, as a teen, but it isn´t the same.

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid - Mary Lambert
ironically danik, I just saw it recently at the nearby thrift store and I left it on the shelf, sure that I had it.
I cant watch video on my torturously super slow internet, but maybe tailor will have enjoyed that.
I love monty python! have you seen the meaning of life? its a rare female who likes python.
monty python and the holy grail
"tis but a scratch!"
I watched Mount Python years ago. Not a fan, bounty, but thought that you guys might like it
In Search of the Holy Grail
The Mônica cartoons are wonderful... May show my great-grandkids some of the videos if I can remember.
My x and I used to watch BBC comedies on the local PBS stations (S.F. / Chico/Redding) years ago... she and I both loved Monty Python, To the Manor Born, Faulty Towers, etc.
The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe - Lily Tomlin
Some more Mônica:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71uqOE4oGv0
I saw one Mount Python film in the cinema. But that was many years ago.
Masters of the Universe 1987
when you watched monty python danik, was it in English? to me half the fun is their accents.
is that the campy one with dolph lundgren as "he-man?"
across the universe a beatles musical with great cover versions. the most noteworthy, worth hunting up, are let it be and don't let me down.
English spoken movies I usually watch in English with cc in Portuguese.
I don´t remember which movie it was, it was a parody.
Let it Shine-Paul Hoen
