Oui, c'etait francais. (Yes, it's French my Norwegian Piglet :)). Here's a little more Latin:
ducenti octoginta duo
to hundre åtti tre
I should have guessed that coming from you :D There's some french place names in this part of the US.
doscientos ochenta y cuatro - Petrarch, how do you know so many languages?
CCLXXXV Petrach, did you pick up on calling me piglet from Virgil? :D
286 I feel so boring...
287 Why is that?
I've studied too much. :lol: Actually, I don't really know German, just how to count in it. The others I have a fairly passing reading knowledge of.Quote:

just curious because Virgil is perhaps one of the only ones who calls me piglet, but you may certainly call me piglet Petrach! I just thought you might of picked it up from him but who knows...
doscientos noventa - So, if you do so much studying, are you a student, someone who just likes to study, or something else?
291 shes a grad student
I'm a Grad student in English. Got the MA last year, and pushing toward the PhD right now. Hopefully I'll be a prof. in a few years time, dazzling my students with my ability to count to 10,000 in multiple languages. ;) I gather you're planning to teach too. What age students are you looking to teach?
due cento novantadue
Doscientos noventa y tres - I plan on teaching high school students. Who knows, you might be able to teach me some new languages, so that I can better communicate with my students, which, I can assure you, will be very diverse in languages.
Well, I seem to have accumulated an unhealthy number of dead languages, but if I can ever help you out with the living ones I'll do my best. Highschool should be a good age to teach. Are you doing teacher training right now, or completing your BA?

295 I plan on starting high school next year....
Good for you, piglet. That's a wonderful time. I remember very clearly starting my first year of high school and feeling quite grown-up. I hope you enjoy it.
296
297 I have one more semester to go before I can do my student teaching, and along with that, I'm going to be taking 2 or 3 other classes, so that I can graduate next May.
Piglet, good luck with high school. Those were the best years for me.
298 I am sure I will be very busy working on my credits next fall, being home educated I have to work very hard.
Why do so many people say they hated high school?
299, I can't even imagine what it would be like to be homeschooled. Do you like it, or would you prefer to go to an actual school?
As to your last question, I have no idea. I made friends that actually liked me, and we loved annoying our teachers. :D
300 I don't know! I have always been home educated. By the time you get to be my age, it seems more like self education, but that's just me and my sister
301 - Well, at least you have someone to be with you. Well, I'll be back in about a half hour- lunch break.
302 yeah, I need to go work on a demonstration, might be back later, if not, tomorrow
Ciao tutti.
CCCIII
CCCIV Now they are easy again
That's italian! Good bye all? I'm a musician, tutti in conchertos means everyone plays, not just the soloist.
CCCV You know, for some reason, I've always had a hard time remembering what each letter as a Roman numeral stands for.
M=1000
C=100
L=50
X=10
V=5
I=1

307, already? wow only 9693 to go...
308 Thanks for putting things in perspective Papaya :lol:
CCCIX - So how would you write 10000 in Roman numerals, when we get that far?
As I recall, after a certain point you put a line over a given number, which indicates that you multiply it by 1,000. So 10,000 would be X but with a horizontal line drawn over the top. I don't know how to do that though, maybe you, with your great knowledge of accent marks and such, would be able to devise a way.
10,000-9690= 310
trescientos once
Unfortunately, I don't know how to do it. The only way I know is on Microsoft Word, and it won't let me copy and paste it that way on here.
CCCXII
I find it requires thinking when books have their copyright dates written in Roman numerals. One has to remember if it should be 50 less than or more than other numbers.... MCMLXXIX = ? BTW, don't forget about D!
Oh this just popped into my head! Millenium and Century
CCCXIII - You know, that's a good way to remember it. Thanx!
CCCXIV This is a good way to get practice! (they haven't shown up yet in my algebra book...)
CCCXV - So, what classes are you gonna take next year? If you need help with math, feel free to ask me. I should be able to help you.
316 I think I'm doing biology and a american lit class and algebra 2 (if I finish algebra 1 by then) and I'll start keeping track of hours for music history and art history and phy ed and music and home ec.... and don't you like my run on sentences? You can maybe tell I don't exactly know what I will do next year, maybe the middle ages for history
317 Wow, that's a lot of classes for one year (or would that be for one semester?) Good luck with them. I simply love your run-on sentence, lets me know that I'm not the only one that does it every so often.
318, well phy ed, home ec, music, music history, art history etc.. are courses that I will accumulate over a few years, so not really. Algebra 2, Biology, norwegian, english(hopefully), history, and that one semester lit class are probably all the credits I will finish next year.
C C C X X :cool:
