Like many Catholics I know, the religion came off in the wash with me, but the traditions and rituals have stuck like a grease stain. It's like some kind of crazy compulsion.

Anyway, yes. I'm observing Lent by giving up all internet but LitNet and e-mail (just the essentials, you know). I gave LitNet a trial run, but I just can't do without. ;) I suppose that means that's the one thing I really should give up, but I'm not Wonderwoman. Sue me.

EDIT: And candy, too, but I'm on a diet so that doesn't really count.

Yes I am and I gave up my favorite thing in life, well foodwise. Chips, plain or dill pickle. And since I gave them up I CRAVE THEM EVERY DAY.

but I can do it. once a couple of years ago I gave up something for lent and kept it up and forgot to go back to it. so it has been like three years now.
