Dry_Snail, Where in India are you from?
er...er...uhmm...I'm a twenty something from South Africa and no I dont have any Lion or Zebra running around in my backyard contrary to popular belief...and YES! I'm a literature-holic.DAMN! I should never have carried my pocket size oxford....thats a dead give away.
I think this is a great forum and 10points on this into page.
(que chariots of fire soundtrack in the background) I love that I can pick up Shakespeare and have a renewed sense of faith in the frivolity of love or page through Oscar Wilde and have respect that he had the guts to advocate his ideals(picture of Dorian grey) eventhough I might not agree with it myself.
thats that,(and the soundtracks finished) heres to virtual friendships.
Hello Group!
I literally stumbled upon this site tonight, and I am elated! (Not that I need another reason to blog something or to state an opinion, but hey...) It is approaching 2 am, and currently my brain is fuzzy, but sure as shootin' I will think of something stimulating to say tomorrow!!!
:flare:
Welcome all!
Hello forum,
It appears that I have been away for several weeks and that fact has become apparent. I'm sorry if I have missed respondng to any welcomes in the meantime. I have been in the claws of the Real Life demon lately and when I get that demon back into its cage I'll start moseying around. Probably to see if I can tag onto a discussion of Nabokov or Woolf whom I have enjoyed reading recently. Until then, there is probably more silence ahead. Meanwhile I am glad for at least the prospect of becoming an active member here, and many thanks for all your welcomes.
Welcome to all the newbies, nice to meet you all! :)
MDalloway,
Fortunately the demons should only be temporary (burdensome paperwork). I definitely hope we can get to discussing your and my two favorites. I've read about half of VN's novels, most recently King, Queen, Knave, and have only recently discovered Virgina Woolf, reading your namesake of course. Looking forward to reading more of both some time soon. Is there a preferred venue here on the site for discussion? I really havn't looked around yet.
Nabokov! I've read some of his too, they are always like coming home.
I'd registered a bit ago, but everytime I returned, I am sorry to say I was a bit put off by the bright orange. I'm glad it is changed to a calmer shade. :)
And I thank the 'powers that be'.....:D

I'm Liz. I'm a feature writer for a newspaper. I'm an avid reader and don't really have people to talk to about what I've read. I found this site while researching for an article and it looked like just the thing.
