Hello ladies, long time no see...hope the coffee's still warm! :)
~gasp!~ must I double post ladies? Well, seeing as the men feel the need to prove their manliness every two pages or so in their thread by bringing up random "manly" topics...let us NOT imitate them and NOT prove our womanliness with randomly selected topics :p
How have all of you been today? This is my 500th post and I still need to vote for that final round of the short story contest. I'm going to Puerto Rico tommorow for a cross-country meet, even though I haven't run in almost a year (the coach begged me, lol). Any ladies in here play sports or have played sports in the past?
wow! you must be really good! :) i do crew . . . though i stink . . .:D not now, though, it's winter! ever tried to row on a frozen lake? :p
aww, come on! we must strike back at the men!! keep them out with girly talk! :p
lol...really good, or the coach is really desperate :p
Now crew is something that I've never had the chance to try, though think I would enjoy it. I like kayaking anyway, lol, so I think I would like it. A lot of running really makes one appreciate a good upper-body workout.
Okay, girly talk girly talk...errr...ummm.... I get to drag my boyfriend to California next month to meet my dad for the first time! Woohoo! (You'd think after being together for 3 years he would have met my dad...:p)
I was into athletics......
getting back to girlie talk.....I need a suggestion....will red earrings (deep red) go with a sky blue top.....:D any ideas....
I guess it could work, Madhuri, if you already have something red in your dress. Something that would 'echo' your earrings somehow.
Hey you are back Lizzy!!!
and a suggestion coming from a pretty girl...:D It has to be right...Thanks!!!
how about a red coloured belt??? I am thinking more in terms of accessories.....
How have you been??? Glad you are here....
PS -- trying to revive the thread...
Glad to see you too! I wanted to know you better, you seem such an amazing girl. ;)
How are you?
I feel better now that I am back home, it gives me strength to hold on.
Yes, a belt would be perfect. You could even had a red handbag or red shoes if you have/want. :D
I am doing great!! and its good to hear that you are doing well....and back home safe and sound :)
I think bag and shoes is a very good idea.....
Hummmm. Yes. And the ancient herbs ol' Pendragon slipped into the coffee pot should start to take effect before long. Hee-Hee-hee. I wonder what will happen when the gentle sex starts to act rather mannish in behavior? Will Maddie start a coffee chugging contest? Will Scher try to belch the alphabet in French? Will Mir grab a megaphone and start to rap about how she's down on life and men in particular? Will the dainty coffee shop begin to look like a bachelor’s dorm? Hee-Hee-hee. The Dragon slips away into another dimension to await developments!
Umm...coulda sworn I heard the word chocolate mentioned 'round here....:D
Coffee and Chocolate. No better combination in the world. /sigh/
So Hi there y'all, can anybody join this here lil get together?
Love your list Nightshade...especially the tea. :)
You know, Pendragon, that some of us don't drink coffee. I personally don't anyway, so your "ancient herbs" will have no effect on me. Now, if you had thought to spike the hot chocolate too...:D .
There's one definate way to keep te guys out of this thread, and that's to discuss the most girly topic ever. .
dun dun duuuuunnnnnn...!!!
(I actually considered that Bluebiird, but figured I'd spare the curious men, lol)
Madhuri, blue dress with red belt, red bag, and/or red shoes will totally justify the red earrings! :D
Personally, I'm wondering if I'm violating some fashion law right now by wearing a wifebeater and baggy jeans for the 3rd day in a row...
Primary colors always seem to work well together, Mad. I don't think blue/red can go wrong!
Ah, who else scours ebay looking for interesting jewelery items? I'm always on the prowl... :D
I don't scour ebay.... I don't have a credit card..
come on. steal your parent/guardian's credit card for a few seconds and copy down the info. (shh)
girly talk... FEMINISM!!! anti sexism!!! we girlies are no diffferent from them manlies.
men are vain. society just doesnt allow them to show it. fess up you guys in this thread!
I don't scour ebay but i do go to garage sales. i have a huge collection of neat stuff from garagesales. they've got a lot of wierd looking jewlery and paintings and bowls and figurines.
anyhow, another semi girlie subject - who on this thread does not shave their body hair? don't be embarrased. this is the internet.

And da place is a firetrap, probably go up like a rocket, eh? One of youse leave one night and next day, dey fine ya in de river, capisce?
I can take care so dat doesn't happen. Say for twenty-five per cent. It's a reasonable offer. I'd take it, if I wuz youse. Come on boys, we're outa heah. Ya got tree days to make up yer mind, toots. Den, I make it up fer ya!
Oh, an have a nice day, heah?
I don't shave it, I let some little Asian lady rip it out by the roots....and then I give her money! :bawling:
The saddest part about this is, I don't do this because I have an aversion to body hair on women.
Hi Ladies and Lasses! And any lurking Lads as well....
Looks pretty good to me...

Thanks Kathy!! The combination is very good, and everything is there -- earrings, belt and shoes. :) I think I can now comfortably wear such a combination.
Is anyone here is fond of mixing and matching accessories and clothes, in the way they dress up? I think it looks good. :) I am particularly fond of a lot of variety in earrings. Well, I cant afford to change my wardrobe every six months, so I buy earrings (of course not the Diamond and Gold ones), but regular ones, in different colours and patterns. The use of earrings can definitely change the look, if you have do not have a huge variety in clothes.
Hi everybody. I haven't posted in the girls only coffee thread so I hope I am welcome. I'll just act like I am and start contributing:
unfortunately I am allergic to anything in my ears except for real gold and silver posts so I just have a few classic pairs of earrings that I switch out now and then, but I wish I could wear more earrings. But, I think that as long as your hair looks good, you can pretty much do anything else. Anyone else with me on this one?
Thats so nice of you Pen. :) But dont you think 25% is a bit too much?? And may I ask 25% of what ;) -- girly gossip, a few pairs of earrings ;) Are you sure you would want to have a share, now...
Nevermind, whatever you decide, you are always welcome for a cup of coffee. Come over! :)
Me too! ( that is alergic ) well actually Im alergic to pure silver ( you know the type that goes black??) and gold is just so chavvy and blinngy and obvious IMO that I dont wear jewlery well except costume stuffbut eah as long as your hair or in my case your headscarf looks good you can do just about anything.
I thought once that I was allergic to everything besides gold, but now I think it's just a nickel allergy, where you can still wear anything without nickel in it. Which is still just about everything :( But some stores have nice, cheap hypoallergenic stuff.
I'm allergic to certain earring metals, too...not that it matters much anymore seeing as I just don't wear earring often lately. I had my ears pierced when I was very young (think 1-year-old screaming in a mall) only to stop wearing earrings at about the age of 12. I'll still wear them occasionally, but only to formal occasions. I actually have pretty much abandoned jewelry, except for my "cruzan bracelet" (http://www.jewelrycrossings.com/store/DC041BRA.html) and maybe a watch, if I remember to put one on...
   I was just having a bit of fun with my "Godfeather" character. You see, organized crime sells what they call "protection". The only protection you need is from them, but they skim off your profits to keep them from busting up your place. 25% is a usual deal, with a coffee shop--because they have a lot of customers. I think people get a bigger laugh out of that sneering, tough-talking penguin than any other character I came up with for the forum. Youse gals keep up da chin music, an' I might drop by fer a hot cup o' joe, on da house, capisce?
I'm not allergic to any earings. I can wear gold, silver, cheapo stuff don't really matter. Of course I made my own earing hole when I was 18. Got infected because apparently you have to disinfect the needle.
Once it healed it was fine. Don't wear an earing anymore, except if I am feeling really special.
Oh! Yeah, not a girl. One of the guys. So, where's the coffee? I just came from having a Guiness and a Steak with the guys and I need a good after dinner coffee.
My ears aren't pierced. They never have been. I might like to wear earrings to formal award ceremonies (When I become a world famous writer :D ) But I'm in no hurry to get them done. Surely having someone stick a needle through your ears hurts, doesn't it? And, how do you know the needle is clean? They may say it is, but how do you really know?
Yes it does hurt. If you get it done in a salon (which is always the best choice) they have a "gun" (for lack of a better word) which they load up with an individually wrapped earring stud. They line this up to your earlobe and shoot it through. Sounds fun, doesn't it? A person can walk into a beauty supply store like Sally Beauty and purchase one, but for individual use it seems a waste of money.
I got mine pierced at 16 and then a second set of holes when I was in my late 20's. The woman in the salon got the stud stuck half way through in my left ear....for 20 minutes. When they finally got it out they had to re-pierce it from the back instead of the front, take the stud out and put it so it faced front to back.
I actually joined a friend of mine when he went to get his ear pierced with one of those "guns" at a Claire's. He was worried it was hurt, but he sat down, they punched it, he asked if it was over, they said yes, and he said "Oh, I was such a baby."
It didn't hurt to pierce, but the ear did get sore and he had to keep the earring in and keep spinning it so the hole wouldn't heal with the earring in it...and he said that could give a dull pain sometimes...
how are you ,girls?:)
I love being a woman!
yes indeed HOW R U GIRLS? iv not been around for a week. so fill me in. hope ur all well. lets see what been happeningin the boys thread................
p.ss iv missed all my familiar buddies here. i think iv forgotten all ur names....mmmm....robin (robins hood on today))? king amess? grace, mir, themis, kathy, nighty, smelly (vampire), apologies if iv forgotten anyone. nostril boy! (lol). Ozeed, my rival-how r u? i do remember PMing. and than my mind goes blank. i see elizabeths back. welcome!
 I'm getting mixed responses here. I suppose it all depends on a person's pain threshold. Perhaps an exmple that everyone can refer to.
Is it anything like getting a blood test or injection?
Because, injections I don't mind. I'm not keen on them, but they don't really hrt much
I think you might also want to think about where the piercing is. If it's in the lobe, it won't hurt us much as higher on the ear where the cartilage (sp?) is. Try taking your fingernails and pinching your earlobe if that is where you are thinking of getting pierced, and see how it feels.
I have a couple of tattoos. The tatooing itself (which is a needle puncturing your skin again and again) felt like hard little fingernail pinches...but again with my experience the healing process was what hurt more. It was so SORE!
Earring are very pretty and complimenting though, if you are into looking pretty, lol...so I think it'd be well worth it for you to get piercings if you are interested in it :)
ear piercing doesn't hurt. If it is just normal ear piercing that is - I got mine when I was a kid and I didn't even notice it.
Nice to see you back Optimistic dear. Sick or busy?
I guess my second time around hurt so much because of them getting the stud stuck in my ear. That is what I remember the most, also because I still have trouble with it. If you don't mind injections then ear piercing probably would not bother you too much.
Hi opti, feeling better?
