He wolfed down a turkey wing and aslo had some white meat with cranberry sauce. I asked what he wanted and he replied turkey. :p

Glad to hear that Larry enjoyed Thanksgiving with Virg. and gobbled up plenty of turkey. Clearly Larry is a very adaptable Leprechaun guest who suits his eating patterns to those of his host. But I wonder, what did Mrs. Virgil and the rest of the family have to say about having a very hungry Leprechaun arrive at the Thanksgiving table? :D
 Well, Mrs Virgil thought he was weird but went along. The other guests found his conversation stimulating. After one glass of Merlot, Larry (he is rather small and one full glass for his body weight was too much) couldn't keep quiet. He was the life of the party, telling us about his home island. We live on an island here too, Staten Island, and New York probably has as many people of Irish descent as Ireland. He was fascinated with that. Of course when he started singing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and "Danny Boy" while doing a jig on the table, we had to tell him to take a rest and he went off to bed. ;)
I've lost track. When is Larry due to come to the Arkansas Ozarks and who do I send my address to?
Dont forget the golden leaves of autumn. It goes well with gold, but thats reall a speciality.:p
As a reminder incase people are unsure.
 Sounds like he was being a right party animal Virgil!:p I hope your wife doesnt mind you looking after him Virgil. She must be thinking we are all mad here on litnet!
I should get him to Petrarch by mid December or so. I'm planning a trip into Manhattan next weekend where I'll take some pictures of Larry with the sites. Actually my wife is treating me to a Broadway show for my birthday (Spamalot) and I intend to have Larry in my pocket. ;) Hopefully I won't get thrown out. I'm sure he'll enjoy the show. Now here he was on Thanksgiving at our dinner table.

I stopped taking pictures when Larry started to get drunk. ;)
Larry looks really happy to be at the Thanksgiving table!
Just so you keep in mind, Virg., I'm leaving Chicago on December 10th, so he'll only be able to visit both Chicago and California if you ship him in time for him to arrive before that date, and preferably before the 8th so I can have the weekend to show him the windy city. If you ship him priority right after next weekend though, it should only take him a couple days to get here (he looks light enough, that I would imagine there isn't much of a difference between the regular and priority rate). Hope he enjoys his trip to Manhattan.Quote:

Hope all three of you enjoy the show. Hopefully Larry will behave himself.
Sounds good. :)
He looks so happy Virgil!
I cant believe he gets to go see spamalot! Lucky Leprechaun!:p
Hooray! Larry performed magic this week!!!! I told him we had tickets for Spamalot and that he was going to go, but unfortunately the Broadway stagehands have been on strike for over two weeks and it looked like it was never going to get resolved. We were never going to get to go and Larry has to move on to Petrarch in a few days. Larry on Tuesday said in that wonderful Irish brogue he has, "Let me see what i can do," and with that poof he was gone and returned late last night all in triumphant glory. He told me, and this is just a secret for us here on lit net, he tossed his magic dust over the Broadway producers and the union heads and poof they came to an agreement. Of course the newspapers don't know how Larry interceded, but we in NY are completely in his debt. :) Check out the articles:

STAGE WAS SET FOR B'WAY WAR HEADLINERS:

Performers from "A Chorus Line" are ready to kick up their heels yesterday over the good news in yesterday's Post.
November 30, 2007 -- THE 19-day strike that shut down Broadway was costly - and inevitable.
Given what both sides were after - the producers to remake the ancient economics of the theater; the union to safeguard its very existence - the stage was set long ago for a brutal collision. [SNIP]

BRAVOS GALORE AS LIGHTS GO UP

Back to BroadwayAll hands were back to work after an agreement was reached to end the strike.
November 30, 2007 -- The ticket lines replaced the picket lines on the Great White Way yesterday - and everyone was ecstatic.
Stagehands and producers, actors and musicians, shopkeepers and even scalpers were all smiles a day after the curtain fell on the 19-day stagehand strike.
"When I heard it was over, I thought, 'Oh, my God, I have to chase some tickets," said Brazilian tourist Rita Silva, 36, who was first in line at the Times Square TKTS booth.
An hour before the booth opened at 3 p.m., 120 people were standing in line. Silva was desperate for ducats to "Mamma Mia!"
The strike, which ended at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, shuttered 26 plays and musicals for almost three weeks, costing the city an estimated $38 million. [SNIP]
Three cheers for Larry the Leprechaun!!
Way to go Larry! Nothing stands between a Leprechaun and a Broadway play. Only in the country a few days and already he's the hero of New York City.
Virgil quote: "I stopped taking pictures when Larry started to get drunk".
Virgil, are you sure Larry doesn't just look drunk normally? He sure smiles a lot. :D I hope someday he can come to visit me, I could use some of that magic dust. Hummm, let me think about where I can take Larry of interest, in my area, when he stops by. He looks like a featherweight, so I think he would fly through the air in a magic capet shipping packet with the greatest of ease. Was he born in Ireland? :p I came in on this thread a little late, so fill me in. I don't have the energy to read all posts tonight.
Great, Virgil - that is right, once again your birthday is nearing; coming back around, another year to add onto our ages...ugh. Let's see what nice things I can come up with this year for your birthday thread. I have some ideas on that, but will think of more, before the glorious day arrives.
How nice of your lovely, generous wife to take you out to see 'Spamalot' - that will be so much fun. I love Broadway shows! Have a great time! You must tell all of us about your magic night out with your wife and Larry. Will he bring his magic dust along?
Janine, if you want to play along you can get on the list as we mail him to each other.
I'll describe the night out in detail. ;) Ah yes, my birthday. Another year. :bawling:
Tonight Larry and I are just sitting around talking and sipping some Bailey's Irish Cream. What a fun little guy. :D
Where has Larry been already? It looks like all the travel is starting to take its toll on him. His strained smile and unruly hair make him look like he's in the manic swing of his bi-polar disorder. Perhaps it's only his sunny disposition overpowering his composure, but he doesn't seem like he has it together. I wonder when he's going to have his board his next flight. Where is he going, next? Janine is close. I would suggest you send him my way, but I think Petrarch would intercept him. At least that would be for the best. I think the part of Illinois she lives in is much more interesting than the cornfield I see out my window.
Hope he has a good time in NY.
