Aye, though rarely any more.
Waiting in lines the day of a premier for a movie/event (example: Star Wars "7"/new iPhone) or waiting a while till the crowds have gone ?
I am allergic to crowds.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
(me too)
Oops I got off topic above re: Aye / Nay versus This / That...
AYE
Tough question if I had to choose. I'd go with the Star Trek franchise because of the quantity of stories (700+) in ~50 years.
38 years for 7-movies was agony; though the paperback novellas by various writers pledged to remain true to the Star Wars universe were fun. Quality here over quantity makes the decision even tougher.
Buying souvenirs/collectibles from said franchises ?
I say aye in general but nay for me in particular. although, I think if I had the opportunity to get something, used and very inexpensive from star trek, id do it.
while I like star wars, I like star trek sooooo much better.
sequels, very late but better than never?
Nay by then I am usually over the movie even if it was one I really liked.
Book series that are 12+ books long?
Yea, but not in the popular sense.
The closest my coming to read 12+ otherwise was L. Ron Hubbard's sci-fi dekaology "Mission Earth", which, in hindsight, was injurious to my tender sensibilities (I much prefer LRH's "Battlefield Earth", a single volume, which I reread once every few years).
Raking leaves ?
ack no way! laughs...
I think 3-4 is a good number. do you have/have read/know of some that are that long muse?
yet another rocky (sorta) movie, creed?
oh heck, late to the game!
I live where I don't "have" to rake leaves...last year I did, this year I didn't. so I can say aye and nay.
yet another rocky (sorta) movie, creed?
Aye. This latest actually looks pretty good, though I'll wait till it comes on the telly to watch.
Thank you notes ?
Aye I guess I have nothing against them but cannot recall the last time I sent one.
ecards?
Aye, e-cards are the savior of us all. When forgetting a birthday, anniversary or memorial for someone's late parrot, an e-card is just the thing, for it whizzes across the internet at light speed, thus concealing to the recipient the fact that you forgot the event, probably forgot them, and in any case can't be arsed.
I'M BACK, B*TCHES!!!!
Swimsuit editions of magazines--and yes, that includes the ones with them Brazilian models with the big booties.
I say aye muse---ive made great use of them in one particular relationship in my life, and she has with me also; its been a signature thing for us.
garlic and onion potato chips?
oh heck, im late to the game again!
I say aye, if no other reason than to stir up the controversies associated with them.
garlic and onion potato chips?
I say Aye, if for no other reason than to stir up the controversy that comes from breathing in someone's face afterwards, whereupon they cringe and yell at you. :-0
Young Adult book series featuring a paranormal theme when they're made into movies or TV shows, assuming they're well-made, like Buffy.
I once had a dance partner yell at me when I was with her shortly after eating a tuna and onion on a garlic bagel.
ah, was buffy a collection of books before the tv show? ive never watched buffy, but she seems to have been a success and I like the whole notion of the thing. it seems like going from book to movie is a major stamp of affirmation to the former.
movies with unhappy endings?
Gods, yes, and I often wonder why they don't make more. I mean, there have been some truly poignant films owing not least to the fact of a tragic ending. Also, I believe there are one or two famous playwrights in history who established this tradition of tragedy in some plays that became slightly famous. :-0 I realize Hollywood believes the predictable happy ending is necessary to sell tickets, and admittedly we now live in a nation of 'tards whose shuffling gait is remarkably close to the zombies they mentally resemble, but come on, lads, give us some pathos, if you will.
The new Sherlock, which I just watched?
do you mean the bbc series? is so, absolutely aye, ive gotten to see a few and loved them. id be happy to see them all. oddly enough, ive not given the show "elementary" a chance.
highly stylized movies like sin city, or kill bill, etc?
Aye
Movies about true events/real people?
There seems to be more and more these days
Yes, there are. In principle and occasionally, Aye. The movie American Sniper was very good, for example, and I see Bradley Cooper has a new one out that's also based a real dude, which I'll probably watch. Other times, though, it often seems Hollywood is just out of ideas and is really reaching for something to make a film about.
Bradley Cooper:
in principal aye, ive seen a couple of movies with him in it and have enjoyed them and his performance.
i might have asked this before, or something similar:
cover versions of some of your favorite songs?
Sometimes, sure, Aye, and sometimes a cover version is better than the original. This is often true with great songwriters whose voices send neighborhood cats fleeing, i.e. Dylan.
Agonizingly slow hotel WiFi? Again, I know I've confronted you with a tough one, guys, but dig deep, do the best you can.
Have to say Nay because I don't believe I've been to a hotel since the advent of wifi; though I might have said otherwise if faced with the dilemma. Does that make sense ?
Curry with eggs ?
I don't eat eggs now, but unfortunately when I did I had never tried curry on them, but I don't doubt for a moment id like it, so aye.
(unless curry with eggs is something different than eggs with curry powder?)
pecan pie?
If by pecan pie you mean pecan pie, then Aye, though it's a bit sweet for me. On the other hand, pie with pecans is very pleasant.
Being hungry and not having any servants to cook up a treat for you?
Yay.
Black and white photography?
Aye
Musicals
Aye, although that's only for a select few (West Side Story and Into The Woods most of all).
Opera
West Side Story is awesome
Aye I have only been once but I enjoyed it and would go again if I could afford it.
Ballet
Aye. Stravinsky and Prokofiev in particular.
The thing with all three, though, is that I tend to just listen to recordings of the music instead of seeing staged productions, live or recorded.
Josef Sudek?
Yea.
Speed limit laws being increased as a trend?
Hell Aye. They're 65 in some areas around here, which is more realistic. I am old enough to remember when the gov't set the national speed limit at 55 because it said that was the most fuel efficient speed. This was during the oil crisis period in the 70s. Suffice it to say, we are not driving the same kind of cars today--technology and fuel efficiency has improved a wee bit--plus hybrid cars and eventually a fleet of electric cars, which will even be self-driving. Thus, in addition to being a pain in the hind quarters, I think abandoning the 55 mph speed limit is long overdue.
A bed in a self-driving car, so you can lie down, with a display on the ceiling, so you can play games, surf, watch porn, and a 7.1 surround sound system?
nay, i do that at home.
Moderate drinker of alcohol or (less moderate, more moderate)?
I don't understand the question. Are you asking would I tolerate a moderate drinker of alcohol? Or am I one myself? Or what is my opinion on such persons in general? I tolerate moderate drinkers, certainly, though I don't drink, myself. So Aye, if that's it.
Cigars? I smoked for over twenty years, then gave them up about nine months ago.
Aye.
Documentaries?
Aye, love a good documentary. When I first started to get into them properly, I considered that it was a sign of my growing old. It still may be, but I like it.
HBO's Vice:
Aye
(There is a cspan related channel called BOOK TV, great channnel)
White chocolate?
Aye, if nothing better is available.
HBO's Rome?
Nay. Made the mistake of trying it once for eight seconds.
House of Cards?
Aye.
six feet under? (hbo)
Nah, never got into that one.
Gluten free?
