To the person below me: what is you favorit writer?
There are so many, you can't force me to favorize...
same q.
Haven't got one. I could limit it on Simenon, Goethe and Wilde, though. I guess.... but there's many more!
Do you have a really useless hobby(or activity) that you just like doing ? (Of course, I just come up with the idea because I am currently doing somethign that's quite pointless ...)
humm surfiing the web??? ;)
yeah I collect postcards pretty pointless but addictive.
Question, Nightshade? I can continue from the last question - no worries. ;)
I have many useless hobbies - playing chess, also collecting postcards, bookmarks, and these silly literary action figures from my favorite bookstore, including Oscar Wilde, Sigmund Freud, William Shakespeare, and Edgar Allan Poe.
To the person below me: did you ever have to take lessons in any sports, musical instruments, foreign languages, etc. as a child? If so, what?
oh dear... What lessons have i done as a younger child. Let's see:
Hockey, swimming, gymnastics, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, riding, ice skating, dancing, wall climbing, theatrics, and i played the gong (and some other instruments) in an indonesian orchestra, and that's it... phew... i feel so exhausted on behalf of my younger days.
How many educational facilities have you gone to? (for example, how many different schools have you attended in your life, or also if relevant universities?)
humm lets see I changes schools at least every 3 years for humm what 16 years ok 6 schools one nursery.
Same q
sorry mono I forgot
Night, my useless activity was actually writing a names-list but you're right..this is useless too...;)
Umm... three schools - elementary school, and, oh, that's tough ... "college preparatory high school" (which isn't exactly where I went as we don't have a college but well, a direct translation doesn't work) and university - which I am stil attending...
Same question..
In hight school, I studied experimantal-sciences. Aftre graduating, I got a diploma in electromechanics of automised systems. And know, I'm studying cross-cultural communivation and translation studies.
To the person below me: what is your turning point in your life? I mean: what is the event that occured in your life and made you change, personally and profetionally?
uhm... graduation (Matura where I come from, bac in France, no idea what in America or GB...)
Same question ... I'm being terribly creative today.
getting married was a big one but i would have to say having a child. It was the most enlightening event in my whole life. She gave me purpose and made me feel needed, like I was the only person in the world for her. I grew up not feeling loved and probably hated for various reasons so my daughter is a chance for me to make up for my past and do something right. Everyone I know (including some of you) always comment on me being a good mom and to me that defines me and that is who I am (thats who I want to be too). Also graduating high school and getting into college because I am the first person in my family to do either.
ok since I liked this question i'll ask it again.

To the person below me: what is your turning point in your life? I mean: what is the event that occured in your life and made you change, personally and profetionally?
okay humm well there are lots I suppose passed and probably to come but I guess you could say the summer I turned six when I found out not only does popularity stink but that its really really horrible to be ignored after being someones"friend" and in affect you shouldnt need people to be happy,in fact people cause more saddness than happiness--only be friends with someone who will be grateful foer your friendship who nes it hey will never leave you.
I was a very calculating child after that summer *shrugs*
PBM: Have you ever had the urge to dance around the streets in the rain???
yes...I was caught by the summer rain several times when I was still in the street and I love the summer rain a lot. I wanted to dance so much then, it's a great feeling to feel the rain drops falling in your face...I just love that. sometimes I even danced, but only if I was in the company of my sister or friends. :D
PBM: when you felt as an adult for the first time did u feel pride or dissapointment?
Both, I guess. It was right after my graduation and I was proud because I had accomplished it and a little disappointed because "being an adult" didn't really feel any different than being an adolescent. Maybe more disappointedf than proud because I had looked forward to it for years and it wasn't as anticipated.
Q - Are you happy with what you're doing right now or do you think you could be happier elsewhere (as in another profession)?
I'm good where I'm at right now. It took crappy jobs in an industry I didn't like to get to this point but I think it was worth it. As a matter of fact up until last week I wasn't too happy with my situation (the job I liked) but there was some changes in my department so we will see.....
Have you ever had to work with someone you didn't like?
No, I can't remember that I had to work with anyone whom I don't like. Actually my list of people whom I don't like is very small...lol
Do you agree with the following quote?
"Majority is authority"
If you agree then why and even if you don't agree the also you have to tell the reason that why don't you agree...
humm Pensive this is a bit of a trick q isnt it? I mean if I say I agree then I would be disagreeing with the sociall excepted outlookw (which is BTW the majority opinion) thus contradicting myself. But if I disagree I would be conforming to the majority authority , wouldnt I
well if I havent manged to talk you into a circle yet my opion is this it depends. Majority is authority in some things like a jury desion. but not in others in other words the authority could be wrong. so yyes a majority becomes an anuthority you can either a gre with or disagree with, if you get my drift??:)
Same q
You are right Night and I have understood your opinion. I asked it because I thought it was tricky :pQuote:

No I said Majoritry is an authority to be reconed with, an Authority with wich you may eitthre agree or not :D
Same Q
To claim that "majority is authority," which I have heard many times, I have also questioned within myself, but I have also heard a quote (I do not remember the precise words), that those of the majority's opinion deserve less thought into their actions than the minority's opinion. Do "majority" and "authority" seem at least somewhat synonymous? Yes. Does "majority" and "authority" often involve both justice and injustice? Yes, but I would like to think that justice will always overcome.
To the person below me: how do you usually cope with your frustration and anger?
HA, I'm a seething cauldron of fury. Actually I have a problem where I can't stay anger very long - it bugs me sometimes. I'll be all kinds of mad for about 10 minutes then blamo - nothing.
Frustration is a different matter, I've been frustrated at my current job since I got here (6 months) - I started exercising a lot more (swimming and running) and I had a few more cocktails then I normally do (probably not the best way). Oh and I'd call friends and complain to them a lot.
Same question.
Cope who said I coped??
Depending what level of angry and fustrated I am I either eat, throwup or become hysterical... not a pretty picture is it?
No actually the problem is I become hysterical whenevr i saqtrt to cry because I have this problem where I can always see the funny side and end up laughing without stopping crrying ( and there is somthing wrong with the grammer in that I know.)
hummm what else well Oh somtimes I go mad and decide to "clean" which thankfully is a rare occurance as it usually involves throwing out most of my stuff away (usually i find out later there was a good reason i was keeping that stuff) Or I bake thats actually prehaps the best way.
If im mad at someone and they are within range i start to humm nursery ryhmes .. if im really mad it will be Little Tommy Tucker

To the person below me: how do you usually cope with your frustration and anger?
It really depends on what, who, or how someone or something frustrates or angers me. My responses will range from crying, writing, walking, to repression (ignoring, "cold shoulder"), but never without attempting some kind of solution.
To the person below me: do you know how to play any musical instruments?
Yes! I play guitar. I like spanish guitar a lot. Now I have an acoustic one. It was 4 or 5 years when I started. But I haven't studied it. I'v just learnt it from the net and practiced with friends.
Same q.
Oh dear, I've just launched myself into the ambitious project of learning to play the saxophone...
What can you smell right now?
My coffee brewing nearby and the rain outside (that very fresh, moist smell).
To the person below me: on average, what time do you usually go to sleep, and what time do you wake?
Too late, around 10:30, and rise again at 6:10, must get to school on time, you know? :)
Person Below, is there an answer to conflict?
Not sure what kind of conflict (political or otherwise) you're refering to but anyway...
I'm a pacifist so I'll say dialogue, not violence... (though diplomacy does take longer !) . It works to the advantage of both sides in the long run.
What did you want to be when you were a kid ?... your earliest ambition ?
To be a doctor because I got sick a lot.
To the person below me: what is your avatar a picture of/ what does it represent?
My avatar is of the a stairway among ruins of an Irish monastery. It represents my continued plight to seek a higher understanding. If you notice, you cannot see the top of the stairway, and I think you never will.
Same question to the person below me...
My avatar is a piece by rolf escher. I don't know what it actually means, but to me, the unending passageway represents a search for something...
Same question to the next person
My avatar are my smilies just to remind people...
Same q
my avatar is a woman, Indian woman, because it their custom to have these drawings in their hands and feet.... at least that's what I've seen in TV. lol... :D but i love these kind of things... :D
same q.
My avatar is Japanese anime of a young girl who is smiling. I felt her smile expressed my personality. You see I try to smile every day because there was a time in my life I could not smile at all. I love who I am today with all that life brings me and that means the good and bad. Life would not be balanced without the bad although it would be nice if there was less of it.
Would you want to live in a world with all good and no bad or vice versa?
Hi Kaltrina, It is not called drawings...Actually here it is a tradition to have "Mehndi" on woman's or girls hands. These drawings are called "Mehndi" or "Hina"Quote:

Never. In my opinion, opposites must always exist, including if opposites only consist of opinions (for example: "that feels hot," or "that feels cold"). Without opposites nothing can undergo regulation, and without regulation and uniquity in certain actions, attributes, and qualities (such as "good" or "bad" attributes), nothing would seem either "good" or "bad," but would have no regard, in my opinion.Quote:

A world with all good or all bad is not worth living in my opinion. There will be no life then if everything is good because we won't have somthing to try to make good as is the perpose of life in my opinion af course, and it will be a hell if everything is bad. No, I'm not for it. Without me.
I like samercury's question.
