I'm a MSc. student in mathematics from Iran.
I love readig books,knowing about writers and their literary works. When I read a book,
I want to know the ideas of people that have read it.
I think here (this web site) is a good place to meet peope and know about their opinions about life,nature,human being and every thing.

I am fairly new to this forum, though this is not my first post as I have been really digging the song title game and posting there a lot. But, I thought I should formally introduce myself here and say hello to everyone.
I joined this forum because once long ago I was a literature student, and I am trying to get back into that mindset. It's weird, but I can't remember enough to participate outright in the discussions on literature, but I have enjoyed reading the posts. All I can remember from my school days is really enjoying The Lady of Shalot (I ended up writing two papers on that one and there is a good recording of it by Loreena McKennitt) so that is where I got my name here. I also liked William Blake. :) I see some really interesting poeple and posts on the forum and I am glad I stumbled accross this one.

It's the first day i'm on this great website which allows me to meet so many friends here. Thank Pensive!
I'm from China. I'm a postgraduate majoring in linguistics, but i start to prepare for GRE in the hope that i could study in U.S.A. after my graduation. I like sci-fiction, romance stories and Robert Frost's poems. I keep reading because it can open another world and a different kind of culture to me; also it enhances my English gradually and helps me think in English instead of Chinese.
Weeping Willow, hi, i'm happily surprised when i know you are from Israel. I was a volunteer for the World Choir Games held in Xiamen China during Jul.16-Jul.26, 2006. I served as a translator and tour guide for LACHAN Jewish Chamber Choir. The Choir members are Jewish but live in Canada. We have had a great time together. This experience makes me feel intimate to Israel, Jewish people and Canada. ^^ My registered name "Keter" is given by the Choir Conductor which is a Hebrew name meaning "crown". All in all, it's glad to say hello to you on here.

As you can see, I'm very new to this forum, I stumbled across it one day and thought it was great, so, here I am. :D
Of course I have to say that I love to read. Right now I'm really keen on Austen and the all three of the Bronte sisters. I read P&P and I absolutley LOVED it. I also enjoy mystery, (Agatha Christie is a guilty pleasure), fantasy and the odd sci-fi. I come from a very musical family, so I play piano, sing and am learning to play violin. I am also a lover of all sorts of music from classical to rock and almost all things in between. I draw and act.
It feels kind of wierd to read all the things that others have posted and know there really isn't anything exciting for me to post, but I guess I'll just have to wait.:rolleyes:
