:p :p :p Well I think the first reason is that I was brought up atheist (environment has a huge impact on people); second, I could just as well accept any other in the world and I'd do it more readily too (especially Eastern religions that border on philosophy/Eastern philosophy or mysticism); third, why put inherent faith in one book?...fourth, there's truckloads of evidence the world wasn't created in six days, the world isn't flat, insects don't have four legs in general (:angel: ), pi does NOT equal three as the Bible pretends, other contradictions like the Bible ordering us to kill such-and-such (I picked a random page in the Holy Book in a bookshop and I landed on exactly that); plus fossil records and radiometric dating etc...why would God choose our particular planet to bless with life? there are plenty of others in the universe, I seriously doubt any infinite being would lavish so much on such a small world (it's a DOT); and plenty more logical reasons (I mean, for God's sake, how could an all-loving god send ANYONE to a hell such as is depicted in the Bible? If any of us were born into a pirate family, there would be a humungous chance we'd grow up to be pirates ourselves...it's not like morally bad people are really "bad", they're usually very miserable sort of people and they can't help it, they've just grown up to be like that)...I think that should be enough. It *is* the Games subforum, after all, not Religious Texts. :D

Well I do believe in Jesus but in a different way as I'm not a christian. Jesus for me is but a human being who had a mission on earth like many others. This is my point of view as it's of my religion. I do love christ but differently.

Good question man. I like it although it's difficulte to be answered. Words are used for comunication and expressing our thoughts. I like them as they are and use them the way they are. So I won't eddit any. But I always wonder how to describe an emotion that is a mixture of love and hatred; when the person is no more in controle of his/her emotions, and is divided by two feelings and don't know the reality of his/her being.

Sory man I'v found it too difficult to answer your question. Better leave it as it is than invent a stupide word. I'm not due for that. But I like your question.

I have always thought it would seem interesting to discover some new species (plant, animal, or otherwise), anatomical part, or new land and immortalize my last name, or something, but that seems more of a name than actual word.
As an amateur poet (writing mostly in rhyme), I think it would seem interesting to invent a word that rhymes with words that have no rhyme (like "silver" or "orange," for example), and make it mean something unimaginable, like the subjectivism of "perceiving" infinity in something small (my credit to William Blake).
For another note, I would entirely eliminate the words "ain't" and "gonna." :D

The most pleasant thing that I have done in my life was to be by the side of my late Grandfather. I took care of him during the time he was dying and I know that it may not sound like a pleasant thing but it was. You see he never stopped smiling until two days prior to his death and his smile gave me the courage to let him go. Letting go of someone is a gift I gave him because he did not worry about me being okay.

Would you consider death of someone who is in pain and terimal to be a blessing?

Yes of course. I'v suffered pain sufficiently to know what is to hope for death in despair. Fortunately I recovered and I'm up again. That's what I hope at least. May God heip those who suffer from painful and incurable illnesses. It's a blessing for sure.

I believe that euthanasia is wrong. You cannot take the life of someone, no matter what the reason is. God may be doing a work in the person's life, whether of punishment or a sickness unto the Glory of God. Killing someone- whatever word you use is still murder. No I believe that murder is a sin, and wrong in the eyes of God.

I too believe that taking any life is wrong but I cannot say now that I would not do it. I watched my Grandfather die from cancer and even though he died ten days after diagnoses he suffered those last few day and I prayed for his death. To some that may sound cold but letting him suffer in pain is just as cold. I could not what I would do now knowing what he went through and his death to us was a blessing.

It is wrong to let someone suffer and it is wrong to take a life so what would you do? Would you consider it selfish to let that person suffer?

Yes, I would. But what a dilemma...I'd probably get someone else to do it. I wouldn't have the strength.

No... I guess only God can help Him. I would talk to God with that person, and ask Him to take away the pain. Of course, hopefully the person is a Christian. ;) He or she would know that God allowed the pain.

What is your oppinion on 'A Portrait of the Arist as a Young Man' by James Joyce? Good, bad, difficult, boring, intresting.....

Unfortunately, I have not yet read any novels by James Joyce, but only his short stories. I really want to read some of his novels, like A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man, Finnegan's Wake, and Ulysses, but have not yet found time to read them. I can honestly find Joyce's short stories and essays, however, absolutely fascinating!

To the person below me: adilyoussef had a good question regarding euthanasia (now usually called "physician-assisted suicide" or "PAS," in medical terminology). Without pertaining too much to politics, of course, what do you think of more liberal medical practices, like PAS, medical marijuana, and unnecessary life-sustaining treatment?

I don't think killing anyone like that is right. After all, God commanded us not to kill. He didn't specify whether or not to kill those who are in pain, etc.

What is your definition of classical?

Classical for me is everything remote in the past. Fasination and mistery are involved in it though. Classical life classical music and art always fascinate me. I love everything classical. Classical is a term used to difine whatever belongs to a traditional style or a set of ideas but, for me, is whatever belongs to a decade that I really love being in.

Are you afraid of death or not? Say why if possible.

I would like to think that I do not fear death, but, if during the circumstances, I have no doubt I would feel somewhat fearful. It seems that I do not fear death nearly as much as suffering a painful death; otherwise, the dark thought of passing on to whatever awaits me sounds strangely interesting.

Who else do I know better or worse than myself? Good question. I would say yes, for my own reasons. Any person, I believe, has every right of making his/her own autonomous decisions, especially if he/she seems in a sane state of mind, though I would regret of what any family and friends would think afterwards. If someone has undergone an overwhelming amount of suffering, according to that person, then, yes, I think it always justifiable.

I don't know if it's justifiable but I think that somebody who commits suicide has to be very, very desperate and that they are more afraid of life than of death. And that's scary. I don't think we should judge them but rather sympathize with them.

No. Because mostly people want you to take care of them and not kill them. And there's always a chance that person's having second thoughts about what he asked me to do ....

Sure, but if it regarded anything academic, I would study a lot more before taking it. I once browsed an IQ test, and no one seems expected to get many questions on there correct, but I thought it interesting just to see what I did and did not know.

yes when i had my daughter I was there from sunday morning until thursday afternoon and once for a week at a adolesence crisis center (mental hospital for teenagers).
