Hey, the guy is from the Boston area. I wouldn't mess with anyone from there. I knew a guy from South Boston in school, we called him "boxer". He was a good friend and someone to be very respectfull of if you didn't know him. If he says 220, 220 it is.

:lol: When i saw your claim/boast i was under the assumption you were a girl. This is a thread that boys are not allowed on.:p even though I rudely intrude myself. ;) But I just checked your profile and it says you're a guy and that you play football. So it's quite possible you can bench press 240 pounds, although that is still quite impressive for a 16 year old. If you're not pulling my leg, my hat's off to you. Wow. Even if you weigh 220 pounds, I'm impressed. When I was about 17 or 18 I was able (but just barely) to bench press 225 pounds, the most I ever did. But I only weighed 150 pounds or so at the time.

edit: Never mind about the thread. I thought this was the girl's thread. I'm getting confused with all the different threads. :alien:

I know. I was very proud of that. Thanks. in the gym now I can barely do 150 pounds, which is the complete reversal. :lol: Oh well, one gets old.

Just in case I'm not the only player/fan of AMERICAN football here, let's see if we can start up a debate: which defense is better, 3-4 or 4-3?

Alternately, who was better... Muhammad Ali or Sugar Ray Robinson? Normally this would be a wash, but I read a Bert Sugar book in which he named Robinson the best of all time.

Depends on the speed of your backfield. I like 4-3.

I didn't watch Robinson. Muhammed Ali eh... But i think Mike Tyson must be the best. Until his late times he had no lose and almost all of his matches finished by KO.

Mike Tyson was undoubtedly the most POWERFUL boxer of all time, but after losing to Buster Douglas, the mystique and aura of invincibility were gone. He had a stretch of dominance that was unrivaled, though.

Personally, my vote is for Ali. He was not only a puncher, not only a boxer, not only a showman, not only a strategist, he was a vocal, outspoken man... Even if I don't agree with his ideas, I can respect that (to a point).

I coach a youth league team and 4-3 is what the high school coaches want us to use. But it works well as long as they don't run to the outside.
