I'm a retired high school Literature teacher, which should tell you SOMETHING
about why I joined you. I didn't come here to take any tests, however, so please refrain from asking the TOUGH questions - my memory doesn't always serve me well.
Three children, all grown; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. I love spectator sports, great literature, and classical music by most composers who lived prior to the 1970s. Favorite composers: Jean Sibelius and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Favorite authors: J. R. R. Tolkien and Charles Dickens, representing a rather broad spectrum, don't you think?
But enough about me. I am looking forward to many happy hours spent on this website and to the absolutely fascinating discussions which I know will come.

Hello--I can never decide if I should post in the "intro yourself" thread or create a new one of my own. In this case, I guess I'll do both. I signed up here thinking it was just the Poe forum, since I got to it via Google. It wasn't until I came back a few weeks later that I saw the full name of the site and decided to explore. What I've seen so far, I like! I love talking about literature of (almost) all kinds.
I guess I'll start a new thread to talk a bit more.
